I dry brush my face, including under the eye area. My experience is no, it will eventually firm and tone up the under eye area. However you must go slowly and be gentle at first.

Use a natural bristle brush, not a synthetic bristle brush like the type used for cleansing. Start off by only dry brushing your face and under eye area every second or third day, instead of every day. Go very very gently under the eye in short, soft strokes working from the outside of the under eye inwards towards the nose. Be warned that if you overdo it the skin will become red and puffy due to inflammation and fluid retention. Give the skin a chance to recover before doing it again. Don't feel you have to stick to a certain regime. By this I mean, look at your skin and see if it looks irritated. If it does, skip dry brushing the skin that day. Also if you are too heavy handed you can break some of the capillaries under the skin. I am prone to broken capillaries so I speak from personal experience.

Lastly remember that dry brushing is exfoliating your skin so take care using other exfoliating agents. You CAN overdo exfoliation. For instance if you are using retin a, don't use it on the same night you dry brush, unless your skin is thick, healthy and used to vigorous treatment. Same with any products containing glycolic acid.

As time goes on you may find that you can dry brush your face and under eye area once a day. Personally I only do it every 2 days and find that is enough, Think of dry brushing your face as being like weight lifting for your body. If you're out of shape you get into shape by building up weights gradually rather than lifting the heaviest weight in the gym first go and putting your back out. It's the same with any vigorous treatments you use on the skin.
