Hi all! Please give me some advice. My derm recently prescribed me tretinoin 0.025% cream for mild acne and clogged pores, and to be honest I am scared of it Sad A couple months ago I had to quit using an AHA lotion because it really screwed my face up. I now have a shallow scar that wasn't there before (my derm could not explain this), some random huge pores here and there, some broken capillaries, and now have way more clogged pores than I used to. I don't understand why as I did not overuse it, but it doesn't matter now, and I am just trying to deal with it. I recently started using emu oil, but these clogged pores and sometimes inflamed zits are killing me. Now my question is, do you guys think the tretinoin would be helpful or would it cause me more harm? I am so scared to put anything on my face these days, and have read horror stories, and I am so conflicted. If I do use the tretinoin, would it be helpful to buffer it with emu oil to start? If I give it a try I will only apply it every third day, if only for my mental health, lol. I guess the buffering is for my mental health as well, since I get anxious now putting things on my skin. I feel if I do everything I can to minimize irritation that I could avoid a lot of bad side effects. I have read where people have actually had damage from retinoids and that is what scares me. I don't want anymore huge pores or scars appearing on my face. My derm swears this won't happen and told me to stay away from forums (obviously I didn't listen), yet my anxiety remains. She also told me it would help with the shallow AHA induced scar on my cheek, which would be amazing if I would grow some balls and use the stuff.

ANYWAY, so sorry for the extra long post. I have been pretty depressed by the state of my skin lately and really want the tretinoin to work, yet at the same time am terrified of making it worse. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
