Hi, I'm new to this forum, so I hope I'm posting in the right place!

I'm looking for a good face lightening product for my mom. She's outside gardening a lot and as a result her skin has aged and she now has an uneven skintone.

I've looked through a lot of the products that the Essential Day Spa sells, but there are so many to choose from!

There've probably been posts about this already in the forum, but if anyone knows of any particular product that has worked for them, I would really appreciate any advice on successful ones!

Thanks,

Mel

Mel,
Welcome to the forum! I'm sure that you'll get a lot of info from everyone here. As for your mom's skin, I would recommend a good Vitamin C Serum. Not only does it help fade hyperpigmentation, but it will also help reverse some of the sun damage from her outside activities.

She should also use a good sunscreen when outside. If her hyperpigmentation is on the more severe side, she should look into a lightening product. Maybe one containing korjic acid. If she spends a lot of time outside, I would avoid using one with hydroquinine. It can make the skin more photosensative & actually create rebound pigmentation (excess melanin) to make her spots darker.

But the 2 main things I would tell her is a Vitamin C Serum (L-ascorbic acid), and sunscreen.
Hope this helps!
Good luck,
Darren

I second Darren's advice. An l-ascorbic vitamin C serum would be the first thing I would look into and also definitely use sunblock as well. I would also suggest incorporating a product with AHAs (e.g. MD Formulations Glycolic Cleanser) to help with removing the dead skincells that can cause a dull complexion and also to increase the absorption of the vit C.

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate the advice!

After what I've been reading in the Product Reviews' section, a Vitamin C serum does sound like the best product for her.

She recently went to a Skincare convention at the Hyatt and many of the vendors told her she would need laser treatments because of all the damage. I'm hoping she can try different products first before having to do that though!

Thanks,

Mel
