Hi ALl,
I have a 1 mm needle dermaroller that i just received..

I find that it is really painful to use it.. I waswondering if I should use any local anaesthesia before dermarolling? please advice?

What all do you use ( if any) to help with the pain of dermarolling. please advice me..

What you need is a topical anesthetic or a numbing cream, with Lidocaine. You can get a prescription from your Dr possibly, or you can purchase formulas online, with various percentages. I have used rollers and never used a numbing cream, but I feel like maybe I should try it out.

Thanks!! My only concern is without numbing cream, I am not dermarolling properly because of pain and with numbing cream ( that I am yet to try) i am scared that it wuill get absorbed by my facial skin..( not sure how bad that will be)

Not sure what to do..

Thanks

When you use the lidocaine or Emla cream, you wipe it off before dermarolling. Some sinks into skin naturally, of course, but you're not pushing it in with the roller.

I've rolled with numbing cream and without. It does make a difference. I find it tolerable without the cream, but I know I do a better job when I use it.

Something else you could try...ice your skin immediately before rolling. It does help. Not as much as numbing cream, but some.

Good luck, hope you find something that works for you.
