Anyone have any recent info on whether or not ascorbyl palmitate is bad for the skin when exposed to sunlight? It's in many sunscreens.
This link is from 2002 and if there's a science guru out there who can translate to plain English, I'd really appreciate it:

Thanks so much for the link. It amazes me that formulators, especially for sunscreens, ignore such studies. Where there's smoke there's fire and there are so many alternative ingredients or the option of leaving a questionable ingredient out.
This is why there are still many sunscreens and daytime moisturizers out there that contain retinyl palmitate, an ingredient that shouldn't see the light of day. |
