| Ok, have a question for you guys. I am using the Yonka Gel Cleanser, Decleor Ylang Ylang oil, and Hydra Matte fluid during the day, and at night I am using the Yonka Gel Cleanser, Dermologica Daily Microexfoliant, Decleor Ylang Ylang Oil, and Yonka Creme 11 in the evening. I have been having flaky skin on my nose that is driving me nuts. When I put my makeup on it looks horrible! Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get rid of this mess?? |

I neglected moisturizing my skin for awhile as it is oily, and this caused me to have oilier than ever mega forehead and dry nose. I am now using thalgo moisture quenching mask, which is fantastic- I love the smell and it soaks into where my skin is dry and got rid of the flakies. Not sure hoe it would fit into your current routine, but it recommends three times a week for ultra dry skin and then once after that for maintenance. If your skin is oily, like mine (I am assuming so because of the Ylang Ylang oil) then it will still be ok. I use the mask between cleansing and toning, as it says not to rinse.

LizzieW – I had the exact same problem when I first started the Decleor Ylang Ylang oil and Hydra-matt regimen (mid-January).
I discovered it was actually *caused* by the Ylang Ylang oil that was working to regulate my oil/sebum gland factory...apparently that one spot on my nose (in my case, right around the nostrils) is dry rather than oily so from then on when I applied the Ylang Ylang oil, I just skim over the ‘dry spot’ and not actually apply any oil to it and I haven’t had any problems since.
Also, FYI - like you, in the beginning, I was using the Ylang Ylang oil in the morning and at night but I just recently (two weeks ago) started using the Ylang Ylang balm at night instead and I’ve found that I can apply that all over my face – including the dry spot – without any irritation whatsover....

Thanks Caretake I'll try it and see if it works. It is around my nostrils too. Maybe I should cut down to once a day as well. I just added Yonka Creme 11 to help out with my redness, and plan to use it at night.
