celeste,
You can do it whenever. Once the Vitamin K is absorbed, it doesn't matter. Just make sure that you leave it on for at least 30 minutes. Shorter times didn't seem to work as well. I never really had bad circles, but i've tried it a couple of times after late nights (ahem...) and it does brighten up your undereye a lot.
As for the bananas katee, you could give it a try, but cucumbers would be even better! |

Okay, new here, NOT a Hylexin mole ... came around checking it out because at this time in my life I'm about to pay anything to get rid of these dark circles. Grrrrrrr! My daughter gave me the ripped page out of a magazine with the ad ... I checked it out on Google and found y'all. From what I am reading I am horrified that there really is no cure for this plaque?
This suggestion is not meant to be smartass ... but in the old days ... weren't leeches used for conditions like this?
Years ago, Christina Onnassis had her dark circles permantly abated. Anyone know what her doctor did? |

Leeches??? OMG, sounds horrific, I'd would learn to love my dark circles if that were the only option. Try pbsadhaka's gelatin recipe... |

I just want them gone!
Will try the gelatin. With cukes! Maybe get a bit of zzzzzzzzz time while it does its thing!
Have tried the vitamin K thing years ago. Right now, using Neutrogena's cream with the copper and am, for the first time ever, imagining seeing an improvement.
How about comebacks to people that make rude comments? Not too many people have the audacity to say something other than "How are you doing?" (With grave concern in their voice as you notice their eyes are scanning your face, particularly around the eyes) But there have been two that have asked, "Who punched you?" or "Where did you get those black eyes?" |

I found this forum when I Googled for Hylexin, too. Guess that was just too good to be true :( . After reading that Vitamin K and Biotin are good for dark circles, I think I'll try this aloe vera and Vitamin K gel that I have. I'm a vegetarian, so unfortunately, using the gelatin isn't really an option, but thanks for the tip. I'm extremely fair-skinned and have very noticeable purple circles under my eyes. This, BTW, has been a problem since before becoming a veggie. Another problem I have is finding a way to really deep-clean my pores and to make them smaller. I've tried scrubs and the strips, opening the pores with steam/hot cloths; nothing seems to completely work. Any suggestions that are cruelty-free?
Thanks,
Pam |

Hi Pam,
For many years I was a vegetarian ... however that was eons ago.
I have discovered Clinique's Pore Reducer to be very helpful with large pores. However, don't know if it would be an option for you. It has helped the pores on my nose and chin dramatically.
Best to you. |

really??? Did you add enough water? Yes, it does get firm on the eye, but it shouldn't dry it out. Of course, we always followed with an eye cream...did you? Hrmm...what brand of gelatin did you use? |

For those of you like myself who have decided to give up on Hylexin, I came across another product that looks really promising. The link was here on the forum. The company is Urist Cosmetics, Inc. in B.C. Canada. I called them today and ordered a 30-day supply for $39.95 + $5 S&H. A 60-day supply is $59.95 + $5 S&H. (Much better than $95 for 4-6 weeks.) They guarantee the product (110% money-back). I actually spoke with the head of the company and if it matters to anyone, the ingredients are all-natural, with a small amount of preservative; and it is cruely-free, not tested on animals. Their number is 1-866-341-1148 and the website is http://www.advanced-dermal-products.com/dark_circles.htm. Once it arrives and I have a chance to use it, I'll post the results.

juls_sal,
I don't know what brand of gelatin they used. There was no name on the package, but it was unflavored - I know that. It probably wouldn't matter about the brand, but I don't know. Sorry! |

I have done the geletin thing 2 days in a row...it does get pretty firm and I've need to be careful taking it off gently. I find my skin feels firmer and smoother. I haven't seen a huge change in the darkness but I bet with continued sessions there will be.Thanks! |

Hi Everybody,
I also found these boards thru a google search on hylexin after seeing an ad for it.
The ad and the Hylexin web page both claim that it is from "Bremenn Research Labs" - far as I can find there is no such company. The website is registered to a company named Basic Research (www.basicresearchonline.com) but don't bother believing anything they say. For instance, they claim a connection to a product called StriVectin but it is registered to a company named Klein-Backer.
Anyway, from what I remember my dermatologist saying is that my inherited dark circles (Italian in family) are caused by a lack of under-eye fat. Maybe thin (aging)skin adds to the problem so I can see products designed to thicken the skin helping the appearance.
The vitamin K cream that I tried years ago only seemed to help by actually irritating the skin and causing a slight redness.
Sorry I can't offer any dark circle miracles but I am glad that I found these message boards If I do find a great product someday I will be sure to share it with you. |

juls_sal,
Yes, we did so the upper lid too. Just be careful to keep it away from the lash-line, as it can cause the lashes to stick together. It comes off easily with warm water, but you have to use several cotton pads. |

I also found this site by doing a search on Hylexin...
I sent them an e-mail and asked if they had any samples...No reply...
I also saw the Bio on Christina Onasis...She had really bad dark circles in the beginning pictures...And then they were completly gone....I have always wondered how her doctor took care of them..... |

Well, as i am back from vacation i have been reading the posts and am mildly amused at the possibility that someone would think that i could be advertising for hylexin.... puleeeaze people, let's not let our suspicious minds get the better of us. I am not advertising for hylexin nor am i even in the cosmetics industry. I am an ex hairdresser with dark circles. That's it.
Anyhow, i do appologize to anyone who may have thought that my absence was suspicious but my life is not ruled by a message board and i don't check back in when i am on holidays - who would?
So as for my results, after more than 2 weeks with the HY, i have almost no circles. The darker areas in the corner of the eye are still darker than the rest of the eye area. The area around the eye where the skin used to be purple (people would often ask me if i had a shiner) is back to the same colour as the skin of the cheek.
Now as for the price, if it's too expensive for you, don't buy it. Simple as that. I suggest you go to the Bay of Holt Renfrew and look at the cosmetics there... 25 bucks for a tube of lipstick?! 80 bucks for a tiny bottle of perfume?! If the product is worth it TO YOU then it's worth the price. Hylexin has been (SO FAR) the only product that has worked for me. If it completely erases the cirles then great. Since it has faded them to the degree that has made a visible improvemnt for me then that's great too. Maybe it won't work for everyone - i don't know but for me, it's been good. Someone asked me why I had the dark circles.. I've had them since i was 15 or so, iron deficiency - most likely, but i had cancer last year and lost a ton of blood and had 3 surgeries in the space of 3 months - a hysterectomy was the final result. I had very little blood left and was on the verge of a transfusion, luckily my doctor was able to prevent that by removing my uterus. No more blood loss.. and i was able to recover. I still had the dark circles and my naturopath mentioned that they may never fade away - i was not going to hear that and started looking for products and whatever i could find on the internet that may help - including multi- vitamins etc. I am not low on iron anymore as it has been 2 years since my illness and i have had suplimentation for that. So why didn't the cirles go away on their own after recovery? I don't know. Could be the hemoglobin and it's oxidization - again, i don't know. But for whatever reason, hylexin has worked for me, the circles are still there very faintly near the corner of the eye, but i will take that any day over the raccoon eyes i had before.
So try it or don't, makes no difference to me, i just thought that i would give my experience, take it or leave it.

I too found this message board after i googled hylexin... and i posted only to let you all know of MY experience with hylexin. I didn't say - "go out and buy this stuff - it's a miracle!". I am only saying how it has worked for ME. If it does not work for you, then that's too bad and I do hope you get your money back. However, i don't appreciate being the excuse you use for trying it and not having it work for you. You all have your own minds and can discern for yourselves whether or not you want to spend $100 on anything.
What do you say to those that it works for? Are you saying that I tried to con you into buying this stuff? Get back and READ my posts again if that's your opinion - you'll see that nowhere did i say you should all go out and buy it. I said it was working for me and it has. So again, take it or leave it, makes no difference to me, i was just trying to share my experience with you but i see that if something doesn't work for everybody here, the one's it works for get blasted.
Oh and one more thing...
There are posts on here that ask for the ingredients and as of that time there was no one who had the product and i thought i could help - That'll teach me for trying to be helpful. |
