Question for those using ISC Active Serum or Firming Complex: As these two products contain actives for exfoliation, do you also use a manual exfoliant?
Thanks,
Winnie |

Winnie - I've been using a sample of the Active serum and have not used anything exfoliating other than Joey New York Pure Pores. So far I'm finding the Active Serum very nice to use (nice texture, better than Jan Marini and CellularSkinRx) and I like the slightly minty feeling but I wouldn't say that the results are better than from Jan Marini or the CSRx. I've only used it a few times though.
Does anybody know what the % of actives is in the Acitve serum? Sorry if this has been asked before, but the brochure doesn't say anything about the % AHAs and BHAs in this. |

Keep me informed about ISC vs Jan Marini as far as results and not texture Mabsy. I will have to read about CellularSkinRX. I did not know they had a similiar product. I am loving ISC but in the long run results and money will be a factor. Thanks you Mabsy. |

Ohhhhhh, This is interesting. I'm loving my ISC (Active, Super, Moist. Complex) and don't feel a need to exfoliate with anything else. ISC seems to be taking care of it just fine.
My experience with Jan Marini was different. I didn't see any real results with her line and the VitC eye cream was too intense for my eye area.
Are we talking about the C+Firming from SkinRx?
I was using that product with the JB line. Couldn't tell what product was doing what though.

Hi Lexy,
As I just previously stated, there is a very positive change in my skin. VERY pleased with ISC. My only long term concern is the money. If I could find an Active with the same ingredients I would just try and compare. I did however learn from working for JB that much has to do with the way a product is blended and ingredient quality. So, perhaps I won't find anything as effective as ISC.
Mabsy, Are you using HydraCool over the Active Serum? The reason I ask is that I think it is really necessary for optimal results. |

I'm with you, Winnie! Saving money and getting the same results as ISC would be ideal!
I'm a bit out of it today. Hope my original post said that. But I know, for me, Jan Marini wasn't it.

Winnie,
If money is a concern, you may want to try SkinCeuticals Intense Line Defense. The results are very similiar. It has a 12% AHA blend, as well (I am not sure if it is the same blend) I got wonderful results with this product also. The reason that I switched to the active serum is that it also contains Kojic Acid for evening out pigmentation. I believe that the skinceuticals product retails for around $50.

Mabsy, the sample vials of Active Serum I got from my esthetician were clear, also. The full size bottle is cobalt.
My esthetician told me to decant into the tiny bottle and use no more than one dropperful (from the sample vial) for my whole face, and to apply it in sections (cheek, cheek, nose, chin, forehead) to avoid wasting it, as it's thin and dries fast. This product does have a slightly sticky feel to it, but it works better than anything else I've tried. The only thing I might consider swapping it for is one of the other IS products. I am considering the Pro-Heal. Actually, I wouldn't swap - just add another IS product to my regimen! |

Thanks for the concentrations of ingredients Faith! That sounds very good!
Alexis - sorry, I should have clarified. The CSRx product I'm talking about is their Age-Limit Refinishing Serum. It's got 10% AHAs in it - no BHAs or Kojic Acid (the main reason I got it - apart from AHAs - is the white tea extract content). The Jan Marini has 2% BHA and also some AHA but not sure how much.
Winnie - I am not using the HydraCool, I only have one lone sample of the Active. I just looked at the ingredients in the HydraCool and it just seems like a good hydrating gel. I'd like to try it but I don't see how it could improve things better than the Cellex-C B5 gel, except that it does have some Kojic Acid in it like the Active serum does. I do like the Active serum and if it were cheaper I'd buy this (given results I have at the moment) but I have not seen anything that would convince me to spend that much $ given that the results I'm getting a similar to the Jan Marini and the CSRx (my skin responds very well to AHAs and BHAs btw). Having said that, bear in mind that I don't have any wrinkles and I'm simply going on how smooth my skin feels, how radiant it is, and if I see any more bumps/congestion happening.
Anyway, I will keep you posted. I'm about half way through the sample so maybe there's hope for me to become an ISC fan yet! |

Mabsy, Thanks for the product name. I may have to try that one. I'm very interested in keeping the price down on my skincare regime, too. But, I'm tellin ya, right now I don't even search the forums looking for the latest and greatest product because ISC is doing everything I want right now.
I have a sample of the HydraCool and it is my least favorite product! It feels tacky after application and I get a shine. The Moisturizing Complex is divine. Very different from the HydraCool. It's a thick, gel-cream. (I need a better description but can't think of one right now.) It absorbs almost immediately and leaves the skin matte and wonderfully hydrated. Unless you have very active acne, I think this would be fine for almost ANY skin type. Packs a lot more punch than the HydraCool.
I get medium oily in the summer and I use this very lightly with no problem. I know I'm gonna LOVE it in the winter.

I had to read this. Lexy, I do love the HydraCool. Funny how all of us have different reactions to products. HydraCool is idea for me in the summer. What I like about it over the Active Serum is my skin feels so clean and BREATHS. As you mention winter, I know it won't be enough. I did try straight HA Acid over the Active Serum and did not like it as much as the HydraCool.
I have about a week left to decide on ordering. After two weeks of use I have seen such a refined texture to my skin. Maybe I can give up some other vice to justify repurchasing. |

I am still a bit undecided on the hydracool. I am half way through my first bottle and I am still not sure if i will repurchase.

I still have my sample of HydraCool--used it twice. Can't say that I like it very much, not moisturizing enough and feels sticky.
If anyone is interested in my sample send me a PM. I'd be happy to mail it. Hate to see it go to waste.

I posted my summary under another ISC thread today, after using active, super, pro heal, firming complex and eye cream regularly for 2 months. I'll keep the active and super as part of my daily routine. I couldn't stand the hydra cool (awkwardly sticky for me).
i'll keep the firming complex for winter, it's too heavy for now. The eye cream wasn't a bad moisturizer but didn't do anything with my lines. i think proheal was the one which casued my breakouts, i ditched it completely. |

Thanks! Below is the recommendations from Skinterra:
Morning:
IS Clinical Cleansing Complex ($36.00) - helps lessen blackheads
IS Clinical Super Serum ($125.00) - helps improve the texture of the skin, diminish fine lines, lighten “age” spots and even out the skin tone
Innovative Skincare SPF20 Moisturizing Sunscreen ($33.00)
Evening:
IS Clinical Cleansing Complex
IS Clinical Firming Complex ($115.00) - helps exfoliate dead skin, improve the texture of the skin, diminish fine lines, firm the skin, minimize pores and even out the skin tone
IS Clinical Moisturizing Complex (78.00)
IS Clinical Eye Complex ($68.00) - helps diminish fine lines; can be applied morning and night
I have asked them if they will provide samples and I will pay for the shipping fees. Still awaiting for their reply In the meantime, I have ordered the Super Serum sample from Advanced SkinCare since they don't carry the rest.
Katee - did you buy the samples or the full size from them? I noticed that they carry the "pro" series as well. Have you tried that? I am tempted to get the Pro-heal as well. Would that be for the day or evening? Thanks in advance! I am SO SO EXCITED, can't wait to try this skincare line!! |

I ordered samples from that eBay seller but can't find the cleansing complex in a trial size, unfortunately.
I'm really pleased to read about this line and the wonderful results as I was considering going on Obagi but with definite trepidation. Hopefully, this will be my HG and save me much suffering.
I will report on my findings as soon as my trial sizes arrive. |

I answered the questionnaire at Skinterra and this was the response I received this morning:
Morning:
IS Clinical Cleansing Complex ($36.00) - helps lessen blackheads and decrease oiliness
IS Clinical Super Serum($125.00) - helps improve the texture of the skin, diminish fine lines, clear up breakouts and even out the skin tone
Innovative Skincare SPF20 Sunscreen Powder ($40.00)
Evening:
IS Clinical Cleansing Complex
IS Clinical Active Serum ($120.00) - helps exfoliate dead skin, improve the texture of the skin, diminish fine lines, lessen blackheads, lighten “age” spots, clear up breakouts, minimize pores and even out the skin tone
IS Clinical Eye Complex ($68.00) - helps diminish fine lines; can be applied morning and night
HUH? I really thought they would recommend Proheal as I have super oily skin w/enlarged pores, blackheads and prone to breakouts (a bit sensitive but not overly so - really depends on products). Also, I thought Super was for people w/dry skin, which I don't have at all. Lastly, what about Hydracool to counter the effects of the serums and moisturize, which I still need in order to balance the over production of sebum.
Am I missing something here??? This seems off the mark. Thanks! |

I have very oily skin and before I started using ISC, I had enlarged pores, etc.
I've used the Super Serum right from the start and I love the stuff. My understand is that the Pro Heal is usually recommended when the issue is skin that is actually acneic (or where there is significant rosacea). But, you can always try a sample of the Pro Heal instead of the Super Serum to see if you prefer it. I follow the Super Serum with Hydra Cool. At night, after I apply my Active Serum, I usually follow with the Firming Complex. When I do, I don't need the Hydra Cool. However, if I just use the Active WITHOUT the Firming Complex (which I did during that incredible heat wave), then I do follow with Hydra Cool.
My experience with the analyses you get from Skinterra, etc. is that it's best to take them as recommendations and not necessarily as gospel truths. Hopefully, though, you'll settle on the most effective stuff for your skin type. |

Thanks, Katee. That's making more sense to me now. I really appreciate the clarification and it does sound like our skin is a bit similar. |
