Anyone had success with facial exercises/massages on 11s?

Hi,

Since so many of you are doing facial exercises, I was wondering if anyone managed to get rid of or significantly minimize the frown wrinkles aka 11s using these exercises and/or massages? I saw tons and tons of pictures proving these facial programs effective, but little to no proofs that they actually helped with this particular problem.

Just to make it clear, I am only looking for stuff proven to be effective on a real person (before/after pictures would be amazing but not necessary, I can just take your word for it). I know every face is different yadda yadda, but still would like to get my answers. I am NOT looking for descriptions of exercises or massages that MAY be useful, I already know them.

I managed to minimize it. The frown is no longer there, but there is a wrinkle, smaller then before. Since there is no frown, not really noticeable. I don't mind it.
I did it with massage, something like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfar5dMAaxs.
There is a description here by Ollie I think, something like this exists in various programs, like face yoga, Faceaerobics by Peta - both can be found on youtube.

I really think massage is the way forward and not exercise since frown happens because muscles are tense and locked (I am not an expert, this is my opinion) and these massages make the muscle relaxed.

Thank you maggie_p! May I ask how long it took you before you started seeing any lasting results from doing this massage?
I'm currently doing Peta's facerobics and so far I like it, because it gives me much more muscle control than I had before. Not sure how effective it is in terms of fighting the frown yet.

It is difficult to explain how long it takes... When you look at something every day, you don't see changes...
I can say with certainty that it took about a month for the frown to disappear, doing it twice a day and from then on, every time I notice stiffness in the area I do the quick massage (often at work since I developed the frown while staring at monitor).

I really think it is the stiffness and that frown expression that look bad and make you look angry. Without that, the wrinkle sort of lies flat and slowly disappears... Depending on age, how deep it was etc... Perhaps a bit of derma needling to remove it quicker.

Hi there,

I have a "1". Through the decades I've kept it to a minimum using the wrinkle rubout massage, facial exercise to strengthen the forehead muscles, AND frownies at night.

I used a different wrinkle rubout author who I can't think of the name right now, but here is a wrinkle rubout protocol.

Stamford Bennett was one of the first I know that wrote about a "wrinkle rub out" technique, and I've seen people adapt it and market it as their own etc.

Luckily I've never been a frowner so its never been an issue for me.

That is terrific that you did not do that. I do it when I think deeply. To mitigate it I've had to try and notice first and then change how I use facial muscles Smile still striving
