OK, so I decided to add a vit.C product to my regimen, but the choice is overwhelming...

I've narrowed the choice down to two candidates:
(1) Vivier Kine-C-serum (two in one seems nice!)
(2) EmerginC Topical Vitamin C cream

Both have 10% L-ascorbic acid, and as far as I know, both are stable...

Help?

My skin is (still) dry, but not really sensitive...

I don't know anything about Emergin C but I *do* know that if you tend towards dryness - that the Vivier C serums are absolutely wonderful! From experience, I'd highly recommend the Vivier to anyone with a dry skin who is interested in a topical vitamin C serum.
Good luck!

Thanks! And do I ABSOLUTELY need to purchase a hydrating serum at the same time? I've read that the Cellex-C one is sticky, which I absolutely hate???

I don't really have any real dryness issues at the moment; MDF plus Dermalogica keep them nicely at bay. Smile

Shock Cellex C - sticky? I've never found it sticky - on the contrary - it's like water to me....IMO, the Skinceuticals C + E has a slight tackiness to it...but the Cellex C? I've always thought that it was the most watery..I'm worried now that you wouldn't like the Vivier texture Confused

I have read nice things about the texture of the Vivier, and have no problems with silicone-y textures. Will try!

I think I'll purchase the vit.C-serum first, and then, if my skin gets dry, get a hydrating product in addition.

I haven't tried the EmerginC but the Vivier should be good for drier skins. If I were you I'd go with the vit C first and after a couple weeks of use you will know if you need the B5 gel.

A little off the topic guys but thought I would add a couple of questions about vit c serums that I have had for awhile-

-What do people use these for? Does it improve overall skin appearance or do something more specific?
-I have oily/combination skin- what would you recommend in a c-serum for this>

Thanks for any help guys!! Take care

Hi Maddy! Yes - it sure does improve the overall appearance of the skin (for most people)and an oily/combination usually responds well to it(from what I've read here). It's also a free radical scavenger, supports the efficacy of your traditional SPF cream and helps to stimulate collagen production (YAY! - and that's not all!) To save yourself some time you can do a search (top right hand corner). You'll find that this place is overflowing with vitamin C threads! I think that almost everything you could ever imagine about vitamin c has been covered on this Board - there are even recipes! Very Happy
Good luck!

Thanks lovely Pudoodles!
Have just seen Carekate's recipe for vit c serum- has anybody tried this and what effects did it have?

Will maybe give one a try.

Thanks again! Very Happy
