i have been using camellia oil for a few weeks. i love how it makes my skin feel, but i have noticed my pores being way more clogged then i've ever seen them. i've also had a few more zits than normal, though that could be attributed to switching from my combination bcp, yasmin (which cleared my face up great) to a progestin only pill, errin.

has anyone else had troubles with camellia oil and clogged pores? if so, where do you think i should use my camellia oil now, since i have almost a full bottle and don't want it to go to waste. thanks!

I'm using it with no issues and I have oily, acne prone skin. You can use it on the hair. My hair looks much smoother and shinier than ever.

alliesd - do you have any recommendations for the camellia oil in your hair? i've tried it a few times and just ended up with a greasy mess. do you wash it out? thanks in advance!

I leave it in. The key is not using too much. My hair falls just below the shoulders and I use 4 drops each time. Also put it on damp hair, not dry hair.

Silkia and camellia seed oil both are heavy on my oily acne-prone skin. But they don't break me out and make my skin soft and smooth. I am happy I didn't give them up.

I have read where some do have breakouts, not alot, but some do with Silkia. If you continue, then it would be best to stop using on your face. You can use it on your body or hair. Very Happy

YES! I have that problem. I bought silkia camellia oil about two weeks ago. My skin rarely breaks out and after using camellia oil for a week, I started getting pimples on my forehead! And I have dry skin!!! My pores seem bigger too.

Needless to say, I'm not in favour of this product. It does make my skin look dewy and fresh, but it also takes forever to absorb. I tried putting in on the morning and 3 hours later at work I stared at myself in the mirror and I looked like I had grease on my face. I tried to use it at night instead, which is alot better, but it doesn't help my fine lines at all! SIGH. What a waste. I actually ordered 3 bottles of this. I planned to give one bottle to my mom and one to my best friend. But now that my mom has seen my pimples, she doesn't want to try camellia oil at all!!!!!!

Epiderm's 100% therapeutic camellia oil is lighter in texture and absorbs quickly and no reported breakouts. I have tried 3 and Epiderm is my #1, Silkia #2. Another I tried was heavier and sat on my face like you described. I only use 2 drops maybe on each side of my face and no issues with Epiderms. I recommend for night use only, anyway. Smile

I tried camellia oil upon reading the enthusiastic reviews of a few users. I too, was hoping to make the pores on my nose look smaller, and was extremely disappointed with the result. Not only did it not do the job, it made my pores bigger. A few of my once smaller pores look a lot more noticeable now. I also started breaking out on my forehead, and I have not had break-outs on my forehead for years... very disappointed with this oil. Will stop using it now and forever.

i have used the same oil but i have never had any problems with breakouts in fact when my skin is feeling dry i use this as a night treatment.

i do have normal to dry skin so perhaps thats why?

also recently for the past 1-2 weeks i been using this as part of my cleansing routine to clear out my pores!

i massage the oil into my skin leave it for 5-10 mins.......use my cleanser than use moisturizer!
i think this is helping with clearing out the pores.
alternatively i do honey mask, massage oil, cleanse, moisturize
