Hello,

First of all, this is emberassing to ask, but it's been emberassing to live with - About 2 years ago(ish) I was using Apple Cider Vinegar on my penis to remove a skin tag, I ended up giving myself a pretty bad burn as it ate through the skin. It wasn't pretty. I'm now left with a round (about the size of a quarter) sized area of brown discoloration as a result. Does anyone know of anything that could help me? I was going to order some Hydroquinone but I don't know which to choose. Someone also mentioned hydrocortisone cream on another forum, does anyone have any experience with that for dark discoloration like this? Any recommendations/advice would be helpful. Please.

You actually need to use a skin remodeler for this. It sounds like it is a burn, but believe it or not many of us have had similar experiences and got round it. I one time used ACV neat and got burns on my face. But it took a while but the burns went after a few months. However for me, what I was advised to do was to use a very water downed ACV toner and then CPs and Retin A (but that was on my face). I never thought of using ACV there (and not sure I would tell my hubby to do that at all) but I suspect you need to get the cell turnover increased there and a remodeling agent like Vit C or CPs.

Thank you for the reply, I'll start looking into those - How bad was your burn if you don't mind? The ACV completely ate through the skin and left a bleeding open wound.

I've been thinking about trying hydroquinone, I've never used it though and don't know if that would be a good first step.

It was very severe, but it was my own fault in that I didn't dilute it and nowadays I see that recommendation everywhere but at the time I ignored it.

It left a kind of crater in the skin which is now long gone. But it took time to correct it.

I don't know about hydroquinone -
never used it but don't think its a skin remodeller.
