I was interested in all the reports of Vitamin C products on the forum. I was researching skin care professionals in my area and came across the following statement. I removed the supplier name from the quote since I do not know who they are, and I cannot vouch for any of what they claim. However, I did find it interesting. What do you all think? Read Below:
I've heard a lot about vitamin C's benefits for the skin. Is it really so great?
Vitamin C is a wonderful antioxidant, helping to prevent skin damage. Early studies seemed to show that it reduced fine lines and helped produce healthier skin; however, the latest research refutes those claims According to a biochemist, actual living tissue biopsies showed what lab tests using petri dishes did not, that vitamin C cannot penetrate past the most superficial skin layers and therefore cannot effect skin repair . |

I know - what to believe!!
I'm like a conspirity theroist when it comes to all this. Also look at the order of the ingredients on the label of your product whatever is labeled first is the main ingredient and whatever comes last is the least, also if if says blah blah vit c extract then you know there is no vit c - what is an extract??
I work with food and it is exactly the same for food labels. |

| I find this interesting because I recall seeing shots from those "sun damage" tester thingys that you sometimes get at counters - sorry I don't know what they're called but they show you the underlyring invisible to the naked eye damage. They showed shots before use of a vit C serum and after 6 months use of a vit C serum and the difference was HUGE! I think besides that, I am so happy with the difference in my skin when I use a vit C serum that I really wouldn't consider stopping it. |

I think that you're thinkingof a Wood's Lamp. They are the lights that show photo-damage to the skin. I totally agree with you about the benefits of Vitamin C. It works. Period. And anyone who says that it doesn't needs to take another look at the research & performance data. Also it is safe, and aside from some dermal sensitizing in very sensitive skin types, I've never heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to it. |
