Im nearly 41 and due to stress etc my face is looking old. Under my eyes is the worst. They have paper thin skin underneath that wrinkles when i smile. Its like theres no muscle there. Is there anything i can do. Im going to start Retin A but dont think it will help with the looseness of skin. I really dont want fillers. Any help would be great. |

Restylane or belotero in the tear trough will help add volume under the thin skin. Vitamin A topical creams/gels/lotions (retinol over the counter, or tretinoin prescription) can help thicken the skin as well. Protecting the thin skin from the sun with sunscreen is a must, and anti-histamines. |

Retin A may help, but if you are worried, then you are likely to be more worried if there is any side effects from the Retin A. It isn't for the squeamish as flaking, peeling, redness are all common depending on the strength used. Sometimes it can seemingly get worse before it gets better and with remodelers like Retin A - that's often the case. It also requires consistency - up to a year according to the studies.

I suggest three things aside from skin care.
1. meditation- a lot people do not know this but meditation is really anti-aging and also will help greatly with your stress.
2. Exercise helps to strengthen and even reverse aging. I have read this numerous times in different scientific articles but do not over do it either, find a good balance.
3. Take supplements, collagen, vitamin D, multi-vitamins, omega 3s. We need more then what our foods can provide
4. Lastly be very careful about retin a, although it is anti-aging wonder drug, I have heard many people can not tolerate it and have had bad side effects from it. Personally, I would do retinol serum first to acclimate yourself before doing retin a . Have you already discussed with your dermatologist about retin a? |

I think to improve the "paper thin" appearance, how about NIA 24 eye cream +/- Elizabeth Arden Ceramides ampoules for the eyes? |
