I have just noticed that I have a few tiny whiteheads on my chin area (one fairly good size one on my lower lip edge). I have never had these before Think. Nothing has changed in my skin care routine for some time. I have tried to extract them but they are little buggers. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks much,

Winnie

Yes I too suffered from these little b*****rs - the worst thing you can do is squeeze them. I sorted my diet out and started taking quite strong vitamin supplements (A, B Complex, Zinc) they cleared after a coulpe of months. Wink

Thanks....But, what causes them to come on all of a sudden? Puzzling. Mad

Shock Acne at 60!!! OMG. Thankfully I only have a few. My body must be going through some kind of hormonal change.

I said I was not doing anything new. Just thought I have been making my own Dr. H Cleansing Cream with almonds and olive oil. Maybe that is not the cause but I think I will stop!

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps the olive oil is too heavy? Maybe try substituting grapeseed oil instead?

Btw, I find that applying an AHA/BHA treatment just to the millia for a while (say a week) softens it up enough so that it can be easily extracted.

Funny you bring up this topic, Winnie, because I have recently been experimenting with Avocado oil around my nose and I have had a nasty little white head pop up, too! When I get pimples I use a clay mask or spot treat with Dr H rejuvenating mask. Have not yet experimented with treating whiteheads in this manner but it's worth a shot. I hate them!!!

I, too, tried my homemade CC with grapeseed oil, my skin immediately became bumpy, needed to wash it off, and the ACV calms it right down. I won't bother with making my CC again.

Try ACV, it really did take care of ALL the problems on my face, milia, white heads, scars, freckles, my face looks clearer everyday. I noticed I have to mix less rosewater in the toner to make it work faster. Rule of thumb for me, as long as I feel the tingling once I spray it on, it's the right mixture. If the smell of the vinegar stay on more than 5 mins, then it's too much vinegar in the mixture.

Hope it helps,
D

Thank you. I have Apple Cider Vinegar in from the health food store. I will give it a try. Since I stopped using my "homemade" Dr. H. cleansing cream I am noticing the few whiteheads are getting smaller. Unbelievable!!! To think that Almonds with a little extra virgin olive oil could do this. It had to be the homemade product as I have never had a problem with breaking out and have not changed anything else in my skincare routine for 10 months.

Many thanks,

Winnie

Winnie-

I have been using the homemade Dr.H CC for about 5 days, and I have just had a wee breakout on my chin. Mine was also made with olive oil. I may have to use the real one again.

Diderot-

I think I will try the ACV, and hope I have a better experience than with the cleansing cream. Poor face.

Take care guys!

It's ironic that others have reported problems since starting the homemade Dr. H CC because I woke up yesterday morning with 3 spots on my face. One of them was more like a hard bump (cystic acne, I think) which I very rarely have.

The only thing I could think of that had recently changed was the start of the homemade Dr. H CC. While I didn't use olive oil to make mine (I used a combination of grapeseed oil and camelia oil) I still had more bumps than usual.

Needless to say, I used my Dr. H instead of the homemade version twice yesterday and this morning and everything cleared up. I can't be positive that the homemade version is the cause, but I suspect it is. The only time I have a breakout anymore is on my chin and I'm sure that is hormonal.

I'm really disappointed because my skin did look and feel as good using the homemade version as it did with the real Dr. H, but I think I'll be sticking with the real thing.

was wondering why squeezing whiteheads are so horrible, as it has been an obsessive habit of mine.

thanks.

I have whiteheads, but I think it is not the same as what you are talking about. I have blanket of fine whiteheads on both sides of my cheeks. It does not look like acne but more like really small fine whiteheads. You cannot squeezed them to get them out, but you have to pick them with tweezers to pull them out. Any suggestions anyone of this problem.

Where I worked they would call this condition under grounders. Many would have glycolic peel and or microdermabrasion which was very helpful. You could either go to a facialist or try it at home. There are several companies that sell microderm. kits. Epidermx is talked about quite often on EDS. Avon Anew makes a two step facial peel. The peel has 10% glycolic acid which is safe to start with. I feel for you. Trying to get rid of those little buggers takes time and patients. Please do not try to extract them yourself. Sad Besides infection you don't want to be left with scares.

BTW the few whiteheads I had on my chin are gone. I put ACV on them with a Q Tip several times a day. Within the week they dried up and said goodbye. Surprised

The Tweezerman Skin Care Tool is made for whitehead and blackhead extraction--supposedly, once you get the hang of it, this tool makes short order of both! I'm waiting for mine as I type. I rarely get a white head but I need something other than my fingers. I can't bare to squeeze any more Smile

Here's the little hummer I ordered. Yes, it's pricey but sometimes ya just gotta do it! I also ordered a pointed/slanted tweezer in neon pink and their face brush (I plan to use it to dry brush my face and neck)

I'll be sure to rate it. I read some rave reviews but can't seem to find the biggest part of them--think it was on MUA.

Oops, the link goes to their main page. Click on Products then facial. I got the no-slip version. It seems that there is a definite technique in using this tool. Some slide it in certain directions or rock it back and forth while encircling the pore. I can't wait! Ths design is a far cry from the old Revlon tool with holes at each end. Smile

Found the reviews!

It's hard to not buy this after reading them all Wink
