I was wondering how many times a week is good to use a mask? I have several I like and try to alternate. Sometimes I mask twice a week, but sometimes only once. Can I mask more often?

Mask when you feel you want to Very Happy I have a clay mask anywhere from once a week to once a month and I have a cupboard full of clays - so I just grab one, mix in a little water and wtch hazel or rose water. I also love my rejuvenating Dr H mask but I use it as an intensive treatment under my day oil, I always think its such a waste to wash it off Laughing
I try not to do face masks too often as the more attention I give my skin the more it breaks out Confused I find if I keep my routine as simple as possible then my skin looks wonderful Razz

I think it really depends on what type of skin you have and also on the type of mask you're using. I wouldn't use a deep cleansing/mud mask more than twice a week on my normal skin, if I had oily skin then maybe I'd be able to use it three times a week. Meanwhile, I can use something like Valmont Renewing Pack pretty much every day. I use moisturising masks maybe twice a week and various other masks as well. I just rotate what I have as I am ashamed to say I have a LOT of masks at the moment Embarassed Often I think I do it for my own psychological benefit rather than for my skin. I find the whole process relaxing/unwinding, so after a long stressful day at work I'll use a mask of some sort even if my skin doesn't need it Smile

Mabsy is dead on. A good mask has the same effect as a long hot bath. If I have the time for both, oh man, now that's a night.

I have oily skin and only get to the deep cleansing mask about once a week. I might add a day if I pass out without washing off my make up. But in the middle of the week I will put on a moisturizing mask if my face feels dry or my decleor whitening make just cuz. Wink

I agree with you, lianne. oily skin needs more times of mask than dry skin.

Very Happy I love masking my face. It makes me feel relax and my face smooth and soooo soft. Good way to treat myself after a long day outside. I mask my face 3-4 times a week. I try to keep that as my routine.

For my combination skin, I mask twice a week: a clarifying or clay mask once a week and a moisturizing mask once a week.

Mine is incredibly random. I have normal type skin. Sometimes I mask 1x/wk, 1x/every 2 wks, you get the drift. It's random, as I don't need it; it's supplemental.

I have a thing with mask. I like to try out new brand/range by starting out with its mask as I have this concept that mask can be washed out so it need not be long on your face to be detrimental to it if it is from a new product that one never try out.

So, I judge the credibility of a brand by its mask. If the mask is good, I may go on with other product in its range.

I have about 30 different kinds of mask right now. I use 2 of them everday.

During the summer, I'll use a mask 3X weekly. Twice with claybased mask, once w/ pumpkin enzyme peel. During the winter, I'll only use clay mask once a week and continue with pumpkin mask on a weekly basis.

I use a clay mask 1X a week, the PSF pumpkin 1X a week, as well as a nourishing or hydrating mask.

Definitely 1x a week with clay based mask but quite often I will use this type of mask 2 or 3x more in my t-zone. I am not using a moisturizing mask enough, any recs for a good one?
