My dermatologist just prescribed differin cream to me. I am upset because I just bought the emerginc serum and multivitamin serum. She wasn't familiar with the line and suggested that I stopped using it. Do you have any suggestions? Or know anything about differin?

Unfortunately, I do not have any info. about this, as it is a prescribed product. Perhaps we have some pharmacists or md's belonging to our Forum who know more about this?

Called up my sister for some advice on this one:

Differen is used to treat comedo, papular and pustular acne. It basically works to speed up the skin's renewel function. It is a topical gel, the active ingredient is Adapalene.

You'll apply during the night - protecting the treated areas from the sun, during the day, is very important, so use an effective sunscreen. Differen can also be used in areas other than the face so this means vigilance in avoiding sun exposure on your back, chest, (wherever) accordingly.

Obviously, oil-based products are not advised, as are products that aim to dry out the skin. This might include those with AHAs, BHAs, etc. Remember, this include makeup; as well as skincare!!

Note: Very IMPORTANT!! If you have any concerns, please, please, go back to your doctor. I'm sure they'll be happy to answer all your questions and give you experienced, professional advice.

My guess is that your dermatologist has advised you against using your new buys due to concerns with their (ingredient) content. Take them to the practice and let her assess for certain whether or not they will have an impact on your treatment.

I hope this helps Wink Goodluck with it!!

Hi janicemarie

I am curious how you are going with the treatment. Do let us know how you are finding Differen and if you were able to use your 'emerginc' products Smile

Hi. It's been a while since I went on this website. I stopped using the differen cream. My face broke out everywhere including around my eyes. My face was red and hurt. I only used a small amount too. Anyway, I went back to the emergin c products and my skin hasn't looked better.
