Hi everybody. I'm new to this group but am SO glad I found it!

I have been trying to formulate a serum incorporate ascorbyl palmitate, but just can't figure it out. It appears from previous posts on this list that my oil-soluble powder isn't going to work! Help! Confused

Mary Jane,
Welcome! I'm sure that you'll find lots of great information here! As for your question about Vitamin C, the form that you have (ascorbyl palmitate), is oil soluble. It is a synthetic form of C ester that is fat soluble. It is not the most active form of Vitamin C, however. L-ascorbic acid is a more active form, it is also water soluble, but highly unstable.
If you want to sue your ascorbyl plamitate, you can add it into any oil-based cream or lotion, or into a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond oil.
Good luck!

The palmitate is just fine. It is not the most active form but it is incorporated well and converts almost totally to the active form in your skin. This is one ingredient with tons of peer-reviewed literature. Use and enjoy.
