I have just bought the Skinceuticals Clarifying kit........which consisted of Serum 10, Phyto Corrective gel, Clarifying Mask and the Ultimate SPF 30 cream...........My question is that i seem to have a problem in trying to apply the Serum 10 and the Spf 30 Cream
The serum 10 seems to be very watery.....i apply about 3-4 drops to my hand and then apply them to my face.......the problems is - i don't actually think that the serum gets to my face.....because by the time i've put the serum onto my hands/finger.........the serum has already sunk into my hand.
It would help if the serum was of gel consistuency..........does anyone else have this problem.....or am i doing something wrong...... .
Also the sun cream......seems to leave a slightly whitish cast........or am i putting too much cream on?
I've applied all the products for about 3 days........can't say that i can see any difference as yet........i know it takes time
I have just ordered the Skinceuticals Renew Overnight......wasn't quite sure whether or not to order the one for dry skin or combination skin........as my skin is combination to dry.......so i just ordered both......also the B5 Gel.......
Can anyone advise me on what i'm doing wrong.....or right?
Just like to add........i ordered my Skinceuticals stuff from EDS on a friday and recieved my parcel the following friday........no customs charges on goods worth £111.......and to my surprise got lots of Valmont samples...the best thing about ordering from EDS is the samples.......apart from the good service...(just ordered £180 worth of more stuff)..........that'll be my budget spent for the year
thanks in advance............regards Karina |

Sounds like you just aren't used to using serums. If you just drop some into your cupped palm and use the fingertips of your other hand to apply it quickly on the skin of your face, you shouldn't have a problem. What I sometimes do is put it in my palm, close my hands, then use both hands to spread whatever serum I am applying on my face and neck. I love doing it, but I suspect I use more product when I do it this way...
Good luck with your new regimen... |

Hi Katee..........i have used quite a few serums in the past.......but they had some 'thickness' to them...........i did put the Serum 10 into the palm of my hand and dipped my finger into the serum and then applied it to my face..........but you really have to be speedy gonzalis........to get it 'all over' your face......rather than letting it penetrate and disappear in one specific area..........anyway........i'll do what you suggested and see if there is any difference over the next few weeks..........

LOL @ speedy gonzalez. I hear ya! I actually like watery serums, but my skin is on the oily side.... I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. |

Hi - I find the Ultimate SPF 30 cream has a slightly whitist cast on me too even if I use it sparingly (which I know is naughty with sunscreen so don't tell me). I'm guessing pale skinned people wouldn't notice, but I'm warm skinned. |

I drop the S10 onto my forehead then rub it all around then a drop on each cheek and rub. Gotta be quick! As for the sunscreen, you need very little. Dime size drop for the entire face and neck. |

lianne,
I do the same thing. I drop the serum directly onto my face & then spread it out with my fingers. |

I haven't used the SC serum for quite some time and have no such problems with Vivier because it is a different consisitency. I don't recall having any major problems with the SC serum though. I generally put a few drops in my palm, press my palms together, and then apply to the face. Perhaps it would help if you moisturised your hands first before doing this? |

Good idea Mabsy............. the reason why i did not moisturise my hands before applying the Serum 10 was because i thought that the moisturiser would interact with the serum.......and prevent it from working somewhat......
As for applying the serum directly to the face.......i think i'll try that..........
By the way.....how long would you expect the serum 10 to last.........?? just out of curiosity.........
Thanks for all your suggestions......i thought, maybe, i was the only one having trouble with the application of serum 10.........regards Karina |

Karina - I think my serums last between three to four months (at least). |

Karina, I had the exact same problem, so do know what I do? I tilt my head back and apply one drop to each section of my face, one at a time, rubbing in completely as I go.
That 5-drops-in-my-hand business wasn't working out for me. lol |

Thanks for that Sheila.....that is what i intend to do as of tomorrow...........then once i've used up my two bottles of Skinceuticals serum 10...i might go for the Jansen Beckett Alphaderma stuff or the Vivier Serum C........i get bored very easily........ then again......if my skin shows some signs of improvement ie glowing, well toned etc.........then i'll probably stick to vit c serum but try the vivier......the one that Mabsy adores............
