I want to find a good:

1) all over shimmer
2) a non-cakey concealer for pimples/blemishes
3) a lip gloss/lip stain to get the "nude" transparent look
4) if my skin is not oily but not dry (clean face) but when using powder alone, it accentuates dryness around nose area... prone to acne--is it better to use JI's pressed powder or their liquid? (i usually use liquid and powder on t-zone)

thank you!!!

Best all-over face shimmer I have used is Scott Barnes Diamond Dust. Excellent, subtle product.

I love Chanel Quick Cover concealer or Lancome Effacernes concealer. Neither are cakey.

Body Shop's "Born Lippy" lip gloss in a pot is a perfect natural rosy/coral/clear gloss for a perfect natural look.

I don't have an answer for the powder questions.

Take a look at the concealer from The Organic Make-up Company. It does not use talc which clogs your pores and therefore you won't get acne.

Take a look at the ingredients list of the products you use as talc is probably one of the top reasons for acne.

If you have oily skin, the talc only enhances your acne and should clean thoroughly. I was told by a sales girl who showed me the Organic Makeup line that the exfoliator works well to clean out the pores and the Dead Sea Mud Mask gets rid of everything else. I tried a bit of the exfoliator and its really concentrated. As for the mud mask, all I can say is that it smelled great from the jar, but I have used other companies that use dead sea mud and in general is works well to clear acne.

I think the other company that offers makeup with organic cornstarch is from Australia, but don't recall their name.

1) not sure (sorry, I don't use one)
2) Jane Iredale Disappear or just some powder mineral makeup applied to the spot on a fine-tipped brush on moisturised skin
3) I don't know if I have a grip on what the nude/transparent look is supposed to be, but the GA lip shimmer in #11 or the Stila Lip Glaze in Fruit Coctail make my lips look natural and fab!
4) I would still use the pressed but would finish with a spritz of hydrating spray to set the makeup and help with the drier bits.

Mabsy: I would really like for summer something that is a lip stain (not shiney but not drying) is the product you suggested like that?

Thanks.

aprilha,
Chanel's "Radiance" is a great all-over shimmer product. You can use it over or under your foundation to give you a sun-kissed "glow" without looking like DATA from Star Trek. Laughing

Sharky - I love lipstains (IMO, Vincent Longo cheek/lip stains are the best of the best), but I haven’t really found one that is the perfect nude...if you want a bee-stung (slightly reddened, like you’ve just been seriously kissed) look, then VL cheek/lip stain in “Liquid Kiss” might be a good bet, but – as with all lip stains – you’d need to apply either a lip gloss or lip balm over the top of it because lip stains can be slightly drying. Something else you might want to consider would be a tinted lip balm, such as Lamas Lip Enhancer or MAC Tinted Lip Conditioners.

*All over body shimmer - I'm using Jane Iredale 24 carat which is subtly shimmery, I have got my eye on MAC mineralize skin finish, this produces more of a sheen.

*Lipgloss - any of Jane Iredale's these last much longer than any others I've used and are a bit more subtle than standard lipgloss.

* Concealer - am still looking myself, I think using the mineral powders on a concealer brush is a great idea though

Sorry, both the Stila and the Giorgio Armani lip shimmer are actually quite shiny.

How about Clinique Almost Lipstick? Not shiny, not matte, but also doesn't last very long. Black Honey is my fave shade in those.
