The MAC Pro Lash mascara is the only mascara that doesn't cause black rings around my eyes at the end of the day. I love this mascara and the price is good too compared to a lot of department store brands.

For those of you who want to avoid "raccoon eyes" from mascara melting: try any mascara that is navy blue. People can't really tell you have on navy blue mascara (since it's usually a dark blue and you can't notice it in regular lighting unless they look very very closely). I've been using Lancome's navy blue mascara (Extencils, Definicils, you name it) and I LOVE it. It's the only brand of navy blue mascara that is perfect for me -- doesn't irritate my eyes, doesn't produce dark rings around my eyes (and I have this product on for at least 8 hours a day), and it's not too expensive. I don't think a lot of brands make navy blue mascara, though. I highly recommend Lancome's (any style in navy blue).
