Heeeeyy
I have found some ACV in my kitchen
Everyone is raving about it and I wanted to try it as well. Can someone tell me though if it is suitable for problem skin?
THX!

Hi Aga, I have problem skin and I tried ACV with distilled water(1:1) with a couple of drops of Tea tree oil and It is really nice. In fact my skin was looking very blotchy for a few days...and this really made it look more even...and I didnt change anything else.. With TTO...the smell too becomes better and reminded me of Lush Tea tree oil toner . I am alternating this with Cellcosmet Active Tonic(which BTW doesnt help with the blotchiness). HTH
OH YES the biggest outcome of ACV toner was that..it keeps me totally oil free and turned my skin from combination to mormal...and when i woke up in the morning even my nose was not shiny (and neither was my skin dry)..irrespective of what I used on top........now, that is a first. |

Thanks for the info!!!
Do you basically use the ACV like a toner after cleanser?

Yes, you use the ACV as a toner, after cleansing and before you apply any serums or moisturizers. ACV toner is going to be fantastic for your problem skin, these are some of the benefits:
• helps even out skin tone
• smoothes out your skin's texture
• helps minimizes the size and appearance of pores
• dries up and reduces redness from breakouts almost over night
• helps regulate oil production
• impart's to your skin "a radiant glow."
The trick is not to start out with too strong of a formulation, so I recommend using ½ water and ½ ACV until you see how your skin reacts. If it burns when you apply it, cut back to 1/4 ACV and 3/4 water.
You can use this toner twice daily and you’re going to start seeing a difference in your skin almost immediately! Let us know how you get on.... |

Hi CareKate!
I am going to try the ACV today!
Do you put any TTO in it?
And what kind of bottle did you use to make the ACV toner?

No, I don’t put TTO in mine, but there’s no reason that you can’t use it. You can customize your ACV toner to fit the individual needs of your skin. I don’t often have breakouts, which is why I choose not to include TTO in my toner. I posted my exact recipe under this thread: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5981&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
You can use any kind of glass or plastic bottle to make your ACV toner, but I chose to buy a plain, cobalt blue (8 ounce) glass bottle at the Container Store ($2.99USD), just because I wanted something pretty to sit on my bathroom vanity. Before that, I was using a plain ole plastic “travel” bottle.
However, I think that if you’re going to add any essential oils, including TTO, to your ACV toner, then you’re better off using a dark-colored (cobalt or amber) glass bottle simply because direct sunlight can minimize the effectiveness of essential oils.... |

Ooooh, I just added 5 drops of Lemon essential oil to my ACV super toner and it’s just fantastic! The combined aroma of the Ylang Ylang and Lemon oils almost completely cancel out the vinegary smell, so for those bothered by that, try adding a bit of those oils and see if that makes it more tolerable for you.
BTW, here’s the benefits of Lemon oil:
• LEMON: Assists in the formation of scar tissue. Antiseptic, astringent, controls the production of sebum, used for oily skin ,and acne. Revitalizes the skin by improving circulation and encouraging the elimination of wastes (used for cellulitis); gently exfoliates the complexion. With long application reduces broken capillaries and varicose veins, softens scar tissue on scars and corns. It is also said to strengthen brittle nails.
Love it, love it, love it! I think I’m going to add a couple drops of Lemon oil to my homemade Dr. H Cleansing Cream next, and perhaps my homemade lip scrub, as well.... |
