I want to make a "gloves in a bottle" type of lotion for my daughter, who is a dog groomer and whose hands are always in water. Here is the formula from the Gloves In A Bottle package:
Stearic Acid
Cetyl Alcohol
Dimethicone
Isopropyl Myristate
Sea Kelp
Cetearyl Alcohol
Propylene Glycol
PVP Ceteareth-20
TEA
Methylparaben, Propylparaben
On another list, it was suggested that Ganex, INCI: VP/Eicosene Copolymer, should be used to make an actual waterproof formula. I will be using Ganex at 3%
I've never made a lotion without oil and have no idea where to start percentage-wize with the other ingredients. I would very much appreciate suggestions!

Those ingredients aren't really good for you, actually they're pretty toxic (check EWG.org)...can I suggest using something natural...like pure coconut oil, wheat germ oil or maybe just have her stick with normal gloves and a nice hand cream (jurlique has had great reviews) that treats her hands all day while she is working? Sorry... |
