You might be aware of my recently documented love for Dermalogica Microfoliant and very recently the PTR Buffing Beads Smile

So the question is, if I use Microfoliant everyday and then twice a week use the Buffing Beads INSTEAD, is that too much? Is anybody else using an additional scrub while they're using the Microfoliant?

Ditto Smile Though my skin doesn't look angry at me at the moment so I don't think I hit the 'too much exfoliation' stage yet. It might be too early to tell though.

Oh, I've thought of the same thing too. I'm also using Dermalogica Microfoliant, and an ordinary scrub about twice a week. Now I'm thinking of buying Clinique Total Turnaround or Paula's Choice 1% BHA also. Would that be too much? I've had some stubborn acne since May, and I really wanna get rid of them now!!!

Dear Mabsy, Sable and Ramsi!

I really give this one a lot of thinking, too. Can't come up with any worthy response myself. I'm a clean freak and many times I find myself kind of over exfoliate my skin, but I only do mild exfoliate with gentle scrubs and cleanser and not really into serious stuff like peeling ...

Oh!...if we could only shed our skin once in a while like those slithering serpents... :P

For now, I'm just waiting for an answer with you guys...Very Happy

Hey ladies...and gentlemen if applicable;),

I have been told we should exfoliate once a week unless we spend a lot of time around dirt, smog, pollutants etc. (such as a toll attendant, construction worker, gardener) then we should exfoliate 2-3 times. My routine, if I can call it that is on Friday mornings, I give myself the extra 30 minutes for a mask for my skin and hair! That's my 2 cents....Very Happy

Hi Mabsy,
Exfoliation is usually centred around the resistance of the skin.
If you have an oily skin that is well nourished and strong, you can exfoliate three to four times a week. Dry skin that is not prone to any sensitivities can be exfoliated two to three times a week to help get rid of flakey, scaly patches and those with skin that is very sensitive with such conditions as acne, rosacea and eczema should exfoliate no more than once or twice a week.Wink
