Last night I tried the L'oreal Sublime Bronze Any Angle Self-Tanning Spray and I turned orange. Is there anyway to remove this other than just time?
Please help, I have a job interview tomorrow at 2:00.
Sincerly

Sublime Bronze is the worst! It turned me orange too. You could try rubbing with a paste of baking soda & water. It will lighten it a bit - is it just on your face so you can exfoliate. The "good" thing about Sublime Bronze is that it flakes off (in patches) in a day ot two. Take it back or throw it away! It's horrible! |

I'm so sorry!!! That is horrible, and right before your interview.
I don't have too much advice, but I'd also second exfoliating well, and you might try to use some toner to try to grab a bit more of the color.
I wish you the best of luck on getting off the orange, and good luck on your interview! |

I like the sublime bronze!!
The best way I can think of is the baking soda method mentioned. |

Hi Orange,
I found the following information on a website and it sounds pretty reasonable:
Removing Sunless Tanner Stains
Stains from sunless tanners have two sources -- the immediate bronzer which is a dye and the DHA tanning reaction. There are products on the market that arrest the development of the DHA but nothing really effective on an aleady developed stain. The following are some "home remedies" that may prove effective in removing unsightly discoloration:
1.) 20 minute soak (baby oil/then water or just warm water) followed by applying exfoliator.
2.) hydrogen peroxide
3.) lemon juice
4.) body hair bleach/remover (vs regular bleach)
HTH!!! |

Oh no!!
poor you....I know that St Tropez do a self tan remover, but I have never tried it and so don't know if it's any good??
Good luck with both getting rid of the tan and the interview!

You can buy that St. Tropez self tan remover at Sephora (click link: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P41351&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=), but it sounds like it’s only to be used on small areas like when you turn your palms orange....
I’d follow the advice that Pinup Girl and pbsadhaka, and then to help even out your skintone (until it fades completely), they say that applying a bronzer helps to tone down the “freaky factor.”
My sincerest condolences and I hope your interview goes well despite your mishap. And, if I may make two future recommendations: 1) Do a patch test first before you commit to covering your whole body with a new self-tanner, or 2) Just get yourself some of the Jergen’s Natural Glow – it’s pretty much been fool-proof for everyone who has tried it.
Good luck!
Carrie
P.S. I just read somewhere that apparently it’s the PH factor in one’s skin which determines whether or not the fake-bakes will turn you brown or orange. So apparently it’s a matter of trying to hunt down the self-tanning formula that will work best for your individual chemistry.... |

I had a suspicion that the St Tropez was only for removal of small areas ie the hands - dang!
Hope the other methods work.....

Speaking of needing to remove self-tanner from small areas...I just read that another technique is to put a bit of cuticle remover on a cotton pad and swipe it over the area. Not sure I'd want to try that one on any 'sensitive' area, like the face, though!
If you accidentally find your self-tan developed a bit streaky (which doesn't happen with our beloved Jergens Natural Glow -- hey Cheeks, have you tried it yet?), apparently you can swipe over the area with a slice of lemon and it will remove the streak!
Okay, I know that's not helpful to poor Orange's problem, but it was interesting info that I thought I'd share anyway.... |

Have you seen that movie "The Wedding Planner" with J.LO. Well, anyway, there was a self tanning disaster the day before a wedding and in the movie they said lemon juice and salt. I have never tried this, but it sounds like it might work |

Hi Carrie
Yep - been using it everyday since I received it. The soft colour is great - the only trouble at the moment is that because I go running regularly it tends to rub off where I sweat.....!
I don't get any odour with it which is a bonus, but I have to leave it to dry for at least 10mins.
Would def recommend it though
Thanks for sending it across the waters.

Orange - how did you go with removing the color? I hope some of those suggestions worked for you. I have heard of the lemon and also baking soda but have not had to try them myself (the L'Oreal Sublime Gel actually works very well for me).
I hope your interview went well! |

The orange will go away! But alpha hydroxy acids will help for sure! Especially glycolic acid. A cleanser or a cream or both for fastest results! |

With expoliation, you tan will fade but takes time. The best bet for you tomorrow would be finding the right foundation color to color adjust your complextion. Dont do anything crazy on your face tonight otherwise you wake up with more surprises.
Good luck with your interview. |

Her interview was back in 2005 - let's hope her fake tan has faded by now! |
