Iam 46 and I have the same problem/all of a sudden (6-8 mo) my skin has turned upside down/very sensitive. I have been using Yonka products it takes awhile to find what works and Iam still trying but it has calmed my skin down alot-now I just have to work on the hot flashes- Good luck |

I guess your doctor meant PERImenopause, not menopause, which is normal, since perimenopause starts 10 years BEFORE the actual cessation of menstruation.
I don't believe skin care is age related. I would go on how my skin FEELS. Dry? Oily? etc etc. Theres no reason why you can't use whatever it is you're using at the moment. |

I'm around 50. I use green tea toner, vit C serum and have started to use an occasional glycolic acid peel. I've also started to use a cream with a mild estrogen (estriol) that might be helping with my one wrinkle. I haven't noticed a huge change in skin. I did get adult acne for a bit but used Retin A and Torzac (sp?) from my MD. If you have delicate skin I'd use one of the milder vit C products. Its the one thing I could swear improved my skin texture. The ones I use may be too strong for you but there are several threads here comparing the different brands. I think everyone 40+ should use a vit C product.
Good luck |

During menopause the only thing I clearly recall is I became allergic to anything with wool next to my skin. My skin would become raw and get a rash. Also developed an allergy to red wine (breathing problems). Other than the above the only suggestion I have for all you young ones is that it is all a state of mine. At 60 I feel better and look better than I did when I was going through menopause. Find the skin care products that are best for you, eat right and get exercise. Growing old is all in how we think. BTW Soy products are wonderful for pre and post menopause. Soy is excellent for your skin, hair and bones. Everyday I drink a soy shake. |

Thank you all for your suggestions, i had been feeling a bit down by it all until my sister told me not to look at it as a bad thing or feeling old and past it she said just look at it as a new begining. |

Bravo Winnie! well said!
If you are going through early menopause, perhaps you could look into HRT? My mum swore blind that it was the only thing that helped her. Like Winnie says soy is good and I think there are other natural supplements you can take (wild yam?) to alleviate the symptoms.
Good luck, Liz x |
