Hello, Yonka Girl ( may I call you that?:P)
Lisa, I'm on a serious search for a good eye cream. Here's my story: I have eye on Yonka Phyto Contour Eye Cream for quite a while now. Reading its introduction on EDS, I think it may be the ideal one for me to get rid of puffy, heavy lids and dark circles and some milia...
Have you ever had or tried this one? If you have, what do you think about it? Is it quite oily or greasy for younger skin? Is it safe for allergic prone skin?
I've tried quite a few ptds. It seems that the skin under my eyes always have allergic reaction with creams that promise a 'lifting effect', 'renewing effect' or 'brightening effect' . I guess it will be happy with just some soothing creams. Is Yonka the one ? Thanks Lisa . |

Hi Leiladao,
I just wrote this HUMONGOUS review and it got deleted because the website said I had the wrong password!
But here I am again.
So first of all, I must say that I don't use the Yonka Phyto Eye Contour Creme very often. I'm 23 right now, and the family advice is to avoid touching the eye area -- even rubbing creams on it will affect the area. So I only touch my eye area when I put on make up and when I remove make up. Otherwise, I leave the area alone. I think this is good advice especially as we age. The more tugging and massaging you do, the more likely the skin will start to rough up and wrinkle. However, this is Asian advice passed down from generations, so believe what you would like . . . I can only "review" this advice when I get older ha ha.
As for the Phyto Contour -- it is not greasy or oily -- pretty light. But I think most eye creams are light since the area is very sensitive. Do you mind my asking how old you are? Perhaps you don't need any "lifting" effects for your eye area yet (since you seem to react badly to such products). I am not sure if Yonka is all hypoallergenic because they use naturally-occurring products. Perhaps Magda or Casper's Mum can provide some insight into this issue.
As for puffy, heavy lids: I always use cold cucumbers. Just leave a cucumber in your fridge, cut two slices, and leave it on your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Just remember to flip sides so you can have the constant "cool" feeling. I remember getting homesick last year and crying for hours. My problem, however, after I cry is that my eyes swell up MASSIVELY (like a black eye) and I can't even put my contact lenses in the next day. But that time I remembered the cucumber trick and put cucumbers on my eyes for 1/2 and hour -- then I fell asleep with them on (they didn't remain since I toss and turn when I sleep). All in all, the next morning, my eyes were COMPLETELY normal (which never happens after I cry).
I think eye creams and lotions are best for long-term effect. I can't give you an honest opinion on the long-term effect of the Yonka Phyto Contour Eye Cream because I only use it occasionally and I don't know what the lasting effect is. But try cucumbers if you need a quick pick-me-up sometimes.
The cream has a "cool" feeling, but it's a lot like the Phyto-58 by Yonka -- it lasts for like a minute. It smells good, but again, the cool feeling isn't as strong as I would like it to be. I still prefer a cold cucumber slice on my eyes.
Hope this helps!

Hello Lisa!
Thank you so much for this wonderful response. I'm so sorry that you had to spend extra time to deliver this long and detailed message to me. Thank a million times. Guess what, I'm 23, too:P
I don't really have wrinkles yet but under my eyes where the skin is super fragile that you can really see all my blue and green veins I have to use some concealer. And that needs to be removed with eye make up remover. In winter time, it can become quite dry after cleansing. So, I think I must add something there to protect and also to hydrate it. Cucumber slices are wonderful, I like them a lot. Sometimes, I use strawberry slices, too. And avocadoes or tomatoes. Hah!!! do you want my 'eye salad recipe'. Thank you again, Lisa, you are very kind. I'll ask for a sample of Yonka eye cream on my next order, then I will share with you my review. Thanks!!! |
