Just a little rant here....
I rec'd from Skinterra.com an email with the news that they are now carrying Dr. Jessica Wu cosmetics, so since I love the IS Clinical line that Skinterra offers I went to check out this line.
Can any of you find an ingredient in her Dew Cream that would warrant a $125 price tag????? (ingredients below) This to me is just nuts.
I had read somewhere that if the active ingredient that's supposed to make a product "do its thing" is not listed by at least the third ingredient, then it's not doing much for you....Is this true?
Anyway, this forum has taught me to be a smart shopper that's for sure.
Here are the ingredients -
Ingredients: deionized water, glycerin, emulsifying wax, isopropyl palmitate, sorbitol, dimethicone, sodium hyaluronate, radix paeoniae alba (white peony), radix scutellariae (Chinese skullcap), cyclopentasiloxane, phenoxyethanol, cetyl alcohol, polysorbate 20, stearyl alcohol

hey Maria!
I could name quite a few lines that can't justify the prices, my beloved La Mer included!
I didn't realize you liked IS Clinical so much, I have their eyecream but not a repeat buy for me. Do you think you or I could ever stay with one skinline?  LOL |

So funny, but this has happened to us before - I think you get me confused with another Maria (such a lovely name!  ).
But, to answer your question, I do like the IS Clinical very, very much. I'm using their Super Serum and Hydrodrops. However, I've got a sample of the JB Vit. C coming, and if that's just as good - then I'll probably save my money next time and get the JB.
Another line - PSF - has a great sounding vitamin C as well, so that's another option.
Lately, I've been trying to be more money conscious with skincare - tough to do, I know. But I've been really trying to read ingredients b/f I jump on the bandwagon.
One bandwagon that I jumped on that proved disastrous for me was Prevage. Yuk. Did nothing for me. WASTE of money.
So for future reference, I am Maria V. from New Hampshire, USA!!!!!

| If you are really interested on cost effective skin care you should check out the Biochemistry of Beauty web site. It is full of scientific, factual, info on skin care as well as the opinion's of other users. There is a section where you can post the ingredients of a product and the moderator(who is extremely helpful and knowledgeable) will let you know exactly what each ingredient is, its function and if it is any good. There are also lots of great recepies for making your own C serum, creams, cleansers, and even sunscreen. It is geared towards beginners so even if some of the scientific info seems over your head(it certainly was over mine) she breaks it down very simply. It has become an very valuable tool for me. |

Judging from the ingredients, I think that price is obscene! The only ingredient that costs anything in that formulation is the sodium hyaluronate, which is so low on the ingredient list, that I'm guessing that it's only about 0.5% concentration by volume. And large cosmetic companies are able to purchase this ingredient by the drum at a very reasonable price. If it was me, I would definitely pass! |

Believe me, I had no intention of buying it. I just thought it so outrageous the price tag they slapped on that cream when you could get a Loreal Product at Walmart with the same ingredients for $15.00.

Oh! I misread your post - I thought you were considering buying it.  Truly, it probably costs them at the most $5 an ounce to make! Yikes! I wonder if people are actually buying it? |
