I am thinking of ordering the foundation kit in Light -and just wonder if the pots in this kit come with a sifter like the larger pots do? I wouldn't like to spill the product all over my bathroom..
And by the way -If any of you use this foundation and have opinions about it, please post review!

Hi Siri,
Yes, the little pots also come with sifters. But keep in mind that Mineral Veil NEVER comes with a sifter -- so turn it right side up and let it sit for a while before opening it (or it all comes out). All the foundations, however, come with a sifter, so no worries on that.
I think there have been several BE product reviews written (I know I've written a couple before) -- you might want to check the archives in the Product Reviews section.
Just FYI, though, it's a GREAT product. I've been using it for about 2 years now after seeing the informercial on QVC . . . it's just a fabulous product. It's gentle on the skin (I have acneic skin and this product helps my skin look better and doesn't cause break-outs). Just don't sleep in the product. The informercial says it's "gentle enough to sleep in" but that's always a bad idea (for any cosmetic product).
Anyway, the biggest issue is to learn how to apply it. They have directions that come with the foundation kit, but it takes some practice. Make sure you get enough product on the brush, tap the brush gently on the side of the container to remove any leftovers . . . and apply the product in circles on your face, starting at your jawline and working towards the inside of your cheek and face. Nothing BAD happens if you don't know how to apply it -- but the trick is not to apply a lot -- because you DON'T NEED a lot. I remember my first application of it -- I was so surprised at the coverage that I just kept swishing the brush over my face . . . ha ha ha. I hope you enjoy the foundation, though. It really is wonderful. Let me know if you have any questions -- this forum has a LOT of BE fanatics so we'd love to help!
I actually went to get a makeover at a Prescriptives counter once -- and I was so surprised at the Traceless Foundation (liquid foundation). I went home and my mom thought I looked radiant. So I went back to buy the Traceless -- somewhat shocked that I could find something better than BE. But after using it once (on my own), I realized it wasn't as good. I think the Prescriptives counter ladies used concealer, TONS of foundation (seriously), more concealer, a colored powder, a transclucent powder, and well . . . you get the point. I probably had an inch of make up on me -- why wouldn't I look good, right? My face wasn't my FACE anymore. Bare Escentuals, however -- I don't use concealer, I just need on thin layer of the product, and voila, the spots are gone with full coverage. I use the mineral veil to set the make up and I'm out the door -- perfectly simple. I still use the Traceless by Prescriptives every so often . . . but seriously, it takes me about 10 minutes longer to apply it and the coverage is minimal.
Good luck! Again, ask questions if you have any!

Wow, thank you!! I read some reviews of these products before and they sound almost too good to be true. Now I have no choice but to get my hands on one of these kits!
You say you have acne-prone skin -do you think these products will look good on drier skin-types also? My skin flakes occasionaly so I don't like liquid foundation or pressed powders/foundations. My skin is normal/dry, I don't get spots but I do get some blackheads occasionaly.
Is this line good if you want a natural, almost nude makeup or is it more for those who like a "heavier" look? I am wondering if I should get some eye glimmers with the same order, and the all-over color "glee" as well, but I am a bit unsure becase what if I don't get the technique right... Do you use many different products from this line? Are the glimmers very glittery?
Thank you, Lisa!! |

Hi Siri!
The foundation should be okay with drier skin types. My skin gets very flaky in the winter and the BE still looks fine -- understanding that the foundation can't cover up any "flakes" of your skin when it's dry but it doesn't make the skin any drier than it already is.
As for wanting a "nude" make up look -- I HATE heavy make-up. My motto is that "the more natural it looks, the better" because my natural skin tone isn't very clear to begin with. The BE foundation simply makes me look like I'm not wearing make up. I know that sounds redundant -- why wear make up if you want to look like you're not? But the thing is -- my skin doesn't LOOK very good when I don't wear make up to cover up some spots. So wearing make up to make me look like I'm NOT wearing make up is ideal. I hope that made sense. All in all, I just use the foundation, dab a little mineral veil, and I'm out the door on a nice spring/summer day.
If I want a more formal look, I just put on some blush, and accent my eyes and lips . . . but the foundation is definitely not heavy -- it's given me a very natural look that other, liquid foundations can't.
I don't actually use many of the shimmer products, since, again, I don't wear a lot of make up and I want the "natural" look. Hopefully someone who uses glee or the other shimmers can help us with this question!

Thank you again, Lisa
It makes sense, yes, and it sounds PERFECT for me. It is so fun to get this excited over makeup! I'll place an order in a few days, I just have to figure out what more to order this time... Can't wait to try this!! |

I'd like to throw my vote in as well! This is a great product and looks very natural (though you can make it look more dramatic like Lisa said). It also has an added bonus of containing titanium dioxide, so you have SPF15 protection. Finally, the powder brushes are fantastic! I use them will other powders as well.
Swirl swirl swril....Tap tap tap....Buff buff buff
Mabsy.
ps. Almost forgot. Like Lisa, I go for the natural look so I haven't tried any of the shimmers/glimmers. |

Thank you Mabsy
Do you know if the brushes that come with the kit are the same size as the face-brush that is GWP, or are they smaller?
I'll skip the glimmers for now, but I may try a couple of the matte eye shadows. I just have to figure out which colors... Tough decision |

I'm not sure what size the face-brush for gift-with-purchase is -- however, the kit brushes are the "regular" sized brushes. Those retail for $25 each so the kit is definitely a STEAL in terms of the brushes (I think you get three, right?). I second Mabsy's thought that those brushes are AWESOME. Seriously. They're absolutely great. |

The GWP brush seems to be exactly the same as the three you get in the kit. It's called the 'short handle' brush and it retails for US$25.
The retractable brush is also supposed to be good if you want to carry BE with you for touch-ups. It's hard to carry the pot with you because it all comes out through the sifter into the top part of the container if you put it in your bag. So in the morning you take the retractable face brush and swirl then tap it. Then retract it and it's ready for you to use during the day Probably not something you'd invest in until you decided that BE is definitely for you. |
