A while ago I ordered BE eye shadow in violet sky thinking it was a nice purple colour and how wrong was I???? So I decided there is no point wasting it and tried to apply it. It just wouldn't blend, took me about an hour and then went walkabouts. I used my Jane Iredale shadow brushes, should I try a sponge applicator.
How does everyone else go on with these shadows?

I apply mine by picking a tiny bit up with the brush and working it into the brush by swirling it round the pot lid. Then I apply to a dry lid for a subtle look or slick my lid with saliva and apply for a more dramatic look Very Happy

I find it lasts quite well, but I have only used the glimmers

You truly only need the tiniest amount on your brush when it comes to mineral makeup including eyeshadows and blushes. When I first started playing around with them, I would always have to tissue off excess, especially on my cheeks as I looked very clownish!!!

Liz has you well covered with the swirling of the brush in the lid. I don't recommend a sponge applicator. Brushes are the way to go w/ mineral eyeshadows b/c you can really tap excess off. I even have swirled a full brush on a kleenex and I still had a lot of color left on the brush. You can continue to pick up color off the kleenex as opposed to putting your brush back in the pot for more. Can you add a lighter or different color to make it more appealing to you? I have found that by adding a light neutral or a champagne color and blending, blending, blending, has softened a look or at least has made it tolerable to wear!

i agree with whats been said about how little you need to use with all the mineral make-ups. however, no matter what I did with BE eye shadows/liners they walked all over my eye area (and sometimes further!). I have never had problems with wandering eye products before. I really wanted to use mineral products and after trying several makes the one that I find best is Jane Iredale - really stays put and easier to apply as in a pressed format but you still only need to use a very small amount compared to non-mineral products.
