Hi. Im interested to know how to take care of my skin but i was afraid to ask personally because Im a guy. My face is a mess right now and I want to do something about it. I have a super oily face on T section and combo on the cheeks with moderately large pores.

I have read much about treatments for oily face in this forum and bought recently the ff:
Dr. H Cleansing Cream
Dr. H Normalising Day Oil
Home made Toner
Home made Vit. C
Claudalie Beauty Exilir

My Problem is what will be the procedure for the application of these skin care products (order of application, for day/night, tips, warnings, etc). Can you recommend or suggests additional products besides the ones i bought? Thank you

I think you've bought/made a nice selection of products and you should see some good results with it.

First of course is the cleansing cream and it is important that you apply this properly (pressing and kneading it into the skin). For a video of how this is done have a look at this previous thread: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5786

After that you're looking to apply the toner (either your home made one or the Beauty Elixir) and then the vitamin C serum. Wait a few minutes after applying the vit C serum in order to give it time to sink in. Now apply the normalising oil.

All the best with it!

Hi lomi and welcome Exclamation

In addition you may want to look into a product that contains glycolic acid (AHA) and perhaps salicytic(sp) acid (BHA). These help gently remove surface oil/debris, which can build up in the hair follicle and cause clogged pores.

There are "pads" which have been marketed to help with this concern. Examples would be MD Skincare alpha/beta peel pads, DDF 5% glycolic acid peel pads and Peter Thomas Roth Gently Correction pads, to name a few. These are quick and convenient and are geared to help those with problematic skin types.

There are a host of other products on the market that contain these exfoliant ingredients so search around and get feedback if you can. AHA's and BHA"S are great ingredients (if tolerated) to help remove dead skin cells from the skin and keep your pores free of debris Exclamation Hope this helps and don't forget to wear your sunscreen!

Thank you for the reply, I really appreciated it. I have started using the cleansing cream already but I noticed something that got me worried. First, because I have large pores in the tip of my nose, the cream filled up the pores and I can't wash it off with just water or a swipe of damp towel. Should I squeeze it out or leave it as it is? Second, I noticed some slightly blemishes on my cheeks and some mild red spots, however, there is no irritation, are these normal?

Are you sure it's the cleansing cream in the pores? Sounds a bit strange but if so then you should be able to wash it out by splashing water on your face. I wouldn't squeeze anything at this stage - if you want to then get a blackhead extractor tool instead. I would actually suggest that you incorporate a good deep cleansing mud mask on a regular basis in order to help clean out your pores.

In terms of the blemishes - you have just changed your skincare regime and sometimes your skin does take a while to get used to it (or it tells you that one of the products is not suitable). I would suggest to keep going but drop off products if it gets worse. Ideally, you should be incorporating the products one at a time so that your skin gets a chance to adapt and also so that you can easily identify any product that is not suitable for your skin.
