| Hi - i love jane iredale pure pressed base in warm silk and am now onto my second purchase of it. However, i have been disappointed recently as it has appeared to develop a hard crust on it and i find it harder to apply than my first pressed base. Has anyone else had the same experience?? |

I haven't had this happen with my JI but I have had this happen with other pressed powders and pressed powder blushes. I believe the main reason for this is just oil deposits from the brush. They harden the powder and it forms a bit of a casing over the rest of the powder. The best solution for that is to frequently wash brushes so that the oil does not get a chance to transfer onto the powder. If it's not that then I have no idea 
ps. Take a clean mascara wand and gently run over the surface of your powder. That will aggitate it enough to get that layer off and will leave you with fresh powder.
ETA: not sure how to explain why it's happening with your second JI and not your first. Perhaps you have changed your moisturiser and are using a thicker one that transfers onto the brush (or applicator). Just grasping at straws here.... |

| Thanks mabsy - yes, i have changed my moisturiser recently to dr h rose day cream, so that is maybe why this is happening! Thanks for your advise. |

OMG the same thing has happened to my pressed powder. (I use Dr H normalising oil) Thanks for the explanation Mabsy. Now if I could only get my hands on a clean mascara wand..   |

| You can scrape the glaze off with the edge of a spoon (gently). Try blotting any excess oil off your face before you put on the base, and wash your brushes again. That should keep the glaze from reforming. |
