I have just finished a full size jar of this so I thought I'd write a quick review.

I've got four (now three Smile) of the Eminence masks and what I really love about them is the fact that when you open them up they look exactly as they should. In the case of the Orange and Pumpkin mask - what you get is a jar of...well... orange and pumpkin mache with some carrot thrown in and also some calendula and honey. Basically what I am saying is that the masks feel good because they feel and look and smell very natural.

This particular mask does make my face look very healthy - radiant and fresh would be the best way to describe it. It does come at a price though. Both the monetary kind and a slightly painful kind.

You are supposed to apply the mask onto dry skin with wet hands and leave it on for 30 minutes, after which you take it off with a wet face washer. Now, you all know that I have used various AHA products before so my skin is pretty used to them. Yet, every single time I use this mask my skin does feel like it's burning slightly. There is definitely an unpleasant burning/stinging sensation and my skin feels a bit tender when I take the mask off with a face washer as well. It doesn't however look burned afterwards or anything like that - the results are very good! Even though the results are good I am really on the fence about buying this again because of the discomfort and also the price.

Eminence products are pretty expensive (US$44 for this one - 60ml) and I seem to use more of the Eminence masks than of other masks when I use them. I've used this mask maybe five or six times and it's gone whereas I have 30mL Dr Hauschka masks that I have used more times than that and I still have some left in the tube. I'm not sure why that is but I think it's because the Eminence masks are not cream based and they don't spread easily yet I want to feel like I've adequately covered my face. The jar is 60ml and when you look at it you think that it looks quite large. I was very happy with the size until I discovered that the jars have this *huge* dome on the bottom of the jar that goes half way into the jar Mad

Sorry, I wanted to make this a quick review but it didn't quite work out that way Embarassed

*Edited to add that I keep the Eminence masks refrigerated as I am worried that they will go off. They have a shelf life of one year but I have had a few moisturiser samples go off on me when I kept them in the bathroom. Incidentally, I have not come across any Eminence moisturisers as yet that I thought were really special....

*sigh* Edited again because I realised that I had spelt "pumpkin" as "pumkin" throughout the whole post (and almost did it again!) Brick wall

Hello!
I do Eminence Facials...I am an acupuncturist and I alos do "alternative" skin care...that is I do organic facials, herbal skin care, microcurrent and LED facials...ect. So all that to say that I did a lot of shopping around to decide on bringing Eminence on at my place. The investment came from my pocket so I had to be sure. One thing I liked so much about the line (other that the handmade and still "alive" parts) was how it MUST be diluted with water...so my back bar ends up lasting much longer. You may have not been diluting it enough!! It is a very pure product and they use no water (or in some things only a little of therma spring water) or other fillers. So a little has enough punch to go a long way. Anyways...this has been my experience with it!!
Also thier stuff is so customizable by mixing it with the other masks...I can tell you good ones to mix if you are interested. Hope this helps!! Very Happy

Thank you for the tip - I do dilute with water but not much and not all masks. Some Eminence masks say that you should dilute but this particular one just said to apply with wet hands. I would appreciate any info on which masks to mix if I can do that with the masks I have remaining. I still have the Hungarian Mud mask, the Stonecrop mask, and also the Carrot and Vitamin mask (which is lovely!). I have some Rosehip Whip moisturiser as well (not a fan of that though Sad ).

Thanks so much for the review, Mabsy! I'm going in for my first facial tomorrow and understand that she uses and sells Eminence products and I'm excited because I've read such great reviews here.

You mentioned you have a few other Eminence masks. Do any of the others create less of a burning sensation? My skin sometimes reacts to stronger products. Thanks in advance! Very Happy

If you have sensitive skin then STAY AWAY from the Hungarian Mud mask. It is very strong - it's one of those masks that makes your skin red for a while (because it increases blood flow I think). I think the Carrot Vitamin and the Stone Crop masks should be ok and the Seven Herb Treatment if your skin is very sensitive.

mom2tommax - I guess I should not even mention the name of the Sweet Red Rose Treatment mask then ... Laughing I haven't tried it yet but it sounds so lovely! That and the sour cherry mask as well Drool

Okay....I am soooooooooo weak!

I ordered the Peach Mask, as well as the Lemon Cleanser. I'll be sure to report in on each of them after I get them and use them a couple times (at least).

Thanks Mabsy....although my credit card isn't thanking you. Bad Grin

marmur1 - how was the facial???? Anticipation is killing me! Smile

mom2tommax - Wow! That didn't take you long! I hope you'll be getting some samples with your order. The peach mask sounds really nice. I've tried the lemon cleanser before and it's nice as well - a bit too much for my skin. I had a full size of the Sweet Red Rose Cleanser which was really nice. The only reason I would not repurchase is because it stung my eyes....

Ahhhhh...The Sweet Red Rose Treatment mask is divine!! Crushed red roses...mmmm. Stone Crop is a great summer mask...keep in fridge...it cools and hydrates skin w/o making it greasy or oily. Soothing for sunburned skin as well. Hungarian Mud mixes great with sour cherry...both work to detoxify and astringe your pores. Carrot Vitamin is also a calming mask...has zinc oxide...and mixes great with pumkkin orange.

Mabsy...I wasn't terribly impressed with Rosehip Whip either...but for my patients with rosacea it has been nice. I changed to Naseberry...I have more oily skin so I only need to smallest swipe! In the summer with my more oily skin I just use a serum-(8 Greens Youth Serum mixed with Couperose-C Serum)-in place of any creams.

When I apply the masks I rub a small amount in my hands, then dip both hands in water, rub together agian and apply...I may add more water while massaging it in.

Momm2maxx...the Peach mask is soooo yummy! It is thick and rich so definately dilute it...a little should go a long way! Enjoy!!

The Seven Herb Treatment Mask is great for acne, rosacea, break-out prone, sensitive skin. BUT...it will fell very tingly/stingy for a few minutes. It has Stinging Nettle in it...which mainly was added to stimulate the skin so that the other herbs will be readily absorbed into your skin. It doesn't make your skin red...not that type of stimulation...and it also contains zinc oxide to calm irritated and inflammed skin.

FYI...In Hungary they do standard two hour facials and they are only $35 USD!!! I wanna go!

Oooo! Cool - I will try that the next time I apply one. It won't work with the Hungarian Mud (it would just wash off I'd imagine) but it should work with the Carrot Vitamin and also the Stone Crop one.... The Seven Herb sounds nice as well. I'll have to get that one day.

What are the best Eminence products for rosacea and oily skin(t-zone only)? I purchased the Stone Crop moisturizer which smells divine (does it really lighten skin) and was sent some masque & moisturizer samples. Is Sour Cherry masque good for this skin type?

The best Eminence products for your skin type would be: Sweet Red Rose cleanser, Mineral Cleansing Concentrate,Rosehip Whip Moisturizer, Thermal Spring Whip Moisturizer, Stone Crop Moisturizer, Stone Crop Mask, Carrot Vitamin Mask, Seven Herb Treatment Mask, Rosehip and Maize Exfoliating mask, Sour Cherry is good for combo skin...mix w/carrot for the calming of rosacea, Rosehip Tonique, and best thing for rosacea is the Couperose-C serum.
I don't know how well Stone Crop moisturizer will help lighten your skin, although it reportedly does work...just no personal experience with it yet. I personally use it on patients with good success for hydrating and calming skin...good to keep in fridge over summer and apply to skin nice and cool. Very Happy

cuties - Thoughtcrime used to use the Stone Crop moisturiser but she had stopped because she felt it was lightening her skin (after a fairly long time). She actually got matched to a lighter foundation after using it for a while and she didn't think anything else could have caused it. This is not the effect that she had wanted and she ended up switching to a sweet rose one (or something along those lines).
