A flat iron, perhaps?
Or maybe a straight-perm?

HTH!

The easiest might be to go to the hairdresser and get them to blow dry it straight or use a ceramic iron. However, she might find that she can pick up the ceramic iron (not the top one though) and some hair product for less than the hairdresser will charge.

You might want to check out this thread where “curly heads” discussed the various merits of hair straightening products and techniques: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5799&highlight=curly+heads

BTW, you might want to warn your friend not to do anything permanent because curly hair is actually back “in.” Personally, I think girls with curly hair (provided they take care of it and it isn’t a giant frizz-ball) are 100 times more attractive than girls with straight hair, who are a dime a dozen. I’d rather be unique and memorable than to simply look like one out of cast of millions.

In fact, they just started running a new TV commercial in the U.S. for “Dove” haircare products, where they give hundreds of women the opportunity to have the same long, straight, golden hair that all the models in the magazines and TV are wearing (because that is supposed to be the “ideal” hair), and all of the participants realized that it gets pretty damn boring if we all look exactly alike....
