its really common to see a list of acne myths nowadays. one myth they claim is not true is that diet affects the skin.
What a lie! Its a myth of a myth i call it.
If you have acneish skin, heres some advice. Really cleared me up:
Drink Carrot-Apple Juice twice a day (Fresh, no added sugar)
Stay far away from refined sugar. That includes too much chocolates ladies!
Eat lots of nuts, seeds (pumpkin seeds have lots of zinc which is great for skin) fruits and vegetables.
Guzzle down your water. <-- IMPT!
Avoid fried food.
Alright, i know this is pretty much common sense. But, just thought i'd post this because I have seen the myth list printed out over and over again! its really quite a lie about the diet part! don't be taken in =) I mean, doctors can't sell a good diet can they?
Btw, I ordered the book clear skin from acne-advice.org when it comes, ill pass on some great tips if i find any!
Cheers! |

I never for a moment doubted that diet affects the skin and I'm surprised to hear that there is a 'myth' that says otherwise. I can see that with my skin and hair all the time; it does depend on diet and also water intake. |

Ah, hang on. We are talking about different myths here: "diet affects the skin" is not the same as "certain foods cause acne". I agree with the first but I'm not sure about the second. Though, having re-read the latter part of the initial post I think tynkerbell was referring to the causing of acne not the general effect on skin of diet that was stated earlier. |
