Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and was wondering about Dermalogica masques. I have combination skin and am looking for a purifying mask and a hydrating mask.
I was wondering if any of you have had experiences with the Skin Refining/Intensive Moisture/Hydrating Masque? I can't decide between the Intensive Moisture and Hydrating Masque...
TIA! |

I have tried both the Skin Refining Mask and the Hydrating Mask. Of the two, I prefer the Hydrating Mask. I have normal skin, slightly sensitive skin that can easily become dry. When I first used the Hydrating Mask and followed their directions to leave it on 10-15 minutes, I wasn't very impressed. There was nothing "wrong" woth the mask, but it didn't seem all that special either. I guess I was looking for more hydration. However, one day I had it on and got tied up on a phone call so I ended up having the mask on for an hour. Luckily the mask is a clear gel, and once you have it smoothed over your face, you can't really tell you have anything on at all. Anyway, when I finally rinsed it off --- WOW! My face felt awesome: soft, smooth, hydrated. Exactly what I wanted from the mask to start with. So now when I use this mask, I leave it on for an hour before rinsing. And it is one of my FAVORITES!!!

Hey Lori,
Is your skin normal as in a bit oily at the T-zone and drier at the cheeks??
Thanks,

My skin is pretty much normal everywhere....no oiliness, no pimples, no noticeable pores. However, my jawline and under my chin can easily get dry if I neglect to moisturizer and/or exfoliate.
Hope that helps!!!

my skin is like oily in the sense that i occasionally break out but i find that it gets dry really easily too.. so i dunno what it'd be called but anyway... i love the hydrating mask for the days when my face does feel extremely dry. I had a facial a few months ago and the lady put this on and i was like omg what is this it feels like heaven, its really soothing and it does take away the dryness..
The skin refining mask, well the first time i used it im like oh wow i just wasted my money it made me feel dry.. but the second, third fourth and fifth time i used it im like wow... it didnt dry me out at all... gets rid of pimples (makes them smaller) and your skin isnt dry or red afterwards... its really great.. it wont CLEAR up everything but itll tone it down and make them appear less.. |

Here's a suggestion, if you can afford both masques. Use the Refining Mask on your oily area, and the Hydrating Mask on your normal/dry areas. If you're oily in the T-zone, this would be the perfect combo.

hehe Lori,
That's typically what I do & was planning the same-- I just wasn't sure whether to use the Intensive Moisture Masque or the Hydrating one..
Thanks for all your help!!
