Which Vitamin C serum do most of you prefer? Are the "watery" ones better than the gel kind? Do you see any differences in brands? Thanks, Cheryl

Hi Cheryl Smile

I've only used the Skinceuticals Serum 10 and the Jan Marini C-Esta serum (I've only had samples of the Jan Marini but plan on buying it in the future). I'm not sure if one is more effective than the other, Jan Marini seems to me to be gentler on the skin than the Serum 10 but I'm not sure what the concentration of vit C is in the Jan Marini Serum.

I prefer serums that are less watery. The Skinceuticals is very watery (though looking at my mum who is using it now it's also very effective). The Jan Marini is also watery but to me is not AS watery as the Skinceuticals. It's also not a clear see-through serum, it's yellowish and feels like it has tiny particles in it sometimes. It also has a funny sweet-ish scent to it that I really like.

I think there was a post here some time ago that was explaining that the Jan Marini and the Skinceuticals actually use different types of vitamin C (each company stating that theirs is better of course! Smile). You might want to do a search and read up on the effectiveness of the two different types.

HTH.

Thanks Mabsy. I'm not interested in the Jan Marini cuz I've used it and it really doesn't do much for me. But I see the Cellex, Emergin, and Skinceuticals (and who knows who else) have Vitamin C serums. Aside from the strength, I was wondering about the effectiveness and consistency. Many people love Marini but it just doesn't make much difference in my skin. Thanks for replying! Cheryl
