I've started using a bit of organic honey as a cleanser. Does anyone use honey as a cleanser, moisturizer, or mask?

Hi there~
I use it, sparingly, when I whip up homemade concoctions. I use the raw honey. A bit more expensive but supposed to be better. ??? I use it with dry milk, or with olive/grapeseed oil, or with oatmeal. Usually in the form of a mask, cleansing with it doesn't always make my skin feel "clean". Adding a drop or two to a cleanser might work. Haven't tried that yet. |

ajax,
raw honey basically means it's not pasturized or cooked. When the honey is heated the active enzymes break down.
my boyfriend is a beekeeper, I want to start selling some products with his honey in it at our local farmers market...
know any good recipies? the ones I know of need to be made when you use it. |

My secret obsession is exfoliating..
Because i'm on a budget.. I use cheap honey and some caster sugar mixed in to make my own exfoliator for face and body.
Honey holds so well in any temperature.. I've tried yoghurt before but it just melts the sugar after a few mins.
But I don't think it is necessary to use good honey, (like high UMF types with antibacterial properties) for external uses? But as long as it is edible honey? Agree/disagree? |
