Hi everyone, I have a few questions sorry if they've been discussed before.

Do you need to use a toner after cleansing? Ive heard that its not really needed and that ones containing alcohol are bad for your skin anyway.

Is it true that if you use strong anti-ageing products when you are younger, by the time you need products that specifically target ageing your skin will be too accustomed to these products for them to work properly?

Night cream, needed or not?

When you are using a sunscreen do you still need to put a moisturiser underneath?

Thanks Smile

Hi Sel, This thread will answer lots of your questions about toners...

http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5895

I really don't believe that using anti-aging products when you are young will make them not work effectivly when you are older. A lot of the anti-aging products contain actives to help increase collagen production and to increase cell turnover. These are natural cell functions, we are just helping them to keep going. As you get older though, your skin might change. This could happen for a variety of reasons. If and when it does, I think you just have to be prepared to change with it, and modify your products to suit your new skincare concerns. As well, products on the market are changing so rapidly that it is doubtful that most of us will be using the same routine in the next 5 years anyway! I have my staple products, but there are so many new things that I always want to try (anti-aging products included) that I doubt my skin will have a chance to get that used to something.

With the night cream, I guess it depends what else you are putting on your skin at night. I use serums mostly, just for the benefit of the actives, and don't need any extra moisture, so I don't use night cream. If you find a cream that contains actives in the quanties that you want, then I would use it. If not, I would not just put it on my face for the sake of using night cream.

HTH Smile

Surely the thread on toners covers most of your questions. I love to use a toner. Toners gets rid of any residue of cleanser that is left on my face. Alcohol in a toner is a NO NO as an ingredient. I would suggest that your look up Carrie's receipt for Apple Cider Vinegar Toner. Personally, I have not tried it yet (too lazy). ACV toner sounds lovely and you can adjust it to your skin type. Forum members are loving it. If Carrie is not too busy in her lab I just might ask her to make me a nice potion for my mature skin. Dancing

As far as Anti-aging products Faith said it all.
