I cannot talk from experience as I've never had my hair chemically straightened. However, I do know that on another forum I frequent where they discuss hair issues they have mentioned a few times the Yuko System salon near Green Park.
Supposedly, it is the home of Yuko in the UK and a branch of the original company in Japan. Not sure what the cost is though. |

Both my mother and sister have this done. They have extremely curly hair and this works well for them.
My mum had hers done in a salon in Sohowww.jlionuk.com/about.html This isnt Japenese Hair Straightening it is caled Ionic Hair Retexturising and is meant to not damage the hair at all. Took hours to do but they are great in there.
There is also Colour Nation. I think they have a website too, they do Japanese Hair Straightening and have a salon in London.
Im not sure exactly where my sister has hers done but it comes out amazingly well! So good luck |

hiya.....i got the yuko hair straightening done at green park and it was great. my hair is just above my waist and it took nearly 7 hours and cost £300. beacsue my hair was 'virgin' with no colour or chemicals, the hair was too strong and the yuko chemicals didnt make it as straight as possible. they then repeated the procedure free of charge after 2 weeks. the result was fabulous. it was silky like the models u see on pantene ads for at least 5 months. the straightness lasted about 8-9 months in my hair but new regrowth at the scalp is obviously yur ntural curly hair. i loved it and would definately do it again. however, my fried did it for half the price at a home salon with a lasy who previously worked for yuko and now uses her own korean system. she charges £120 and the result is exactly the same.
btw yuko also has a salonin harrods!!! |

My absolute favarite salon in London is the Japanese salon on Brook street. My stylist has gone back to Japanese but they have been there for a long time so it's trustworthy. Moga (33 Brook street, 020 7499 3885), it is very easy to find, walk down South Molton street, at the corner of South Molton and Brook, look up, then you see this salon above the boutique/maternity boutique. I wish I could go back there!

Hi K, thank you ever so much for the information. I have booked an appointment with a hair technician with Moga for Tuesday. I will also see another salon -Yuko System in Green Park- who does the hair straightening as well. I shall let you know how it goes!!! |

How about any places in Vancouver, BC
My hair is bleached and I am not sure if any places will do it for me. I have had it done before and absolutely LOVED it I actually had it done a couple of years ago at a hair dressing school, kind of scary but worth it for the money I saved If you don't mind me asking how much are places charging these days? |
