Can anyone recommend how to calm down redness after doing heavy extractions? I had a teenage client with acne and major blackheads. Extractions took an hour bc every square inch was full of oil. In the end his face was tomato red. I checked in the morning and face was less so but still red. Am in a bit of a panic bc it has now come to my understanding that acne skin is not really extracted. In school, we were instructed how to extract ready comedones and to my judgement they were. In his case, lots of oil came out and kept coming out. Any advice out there? |

when i've done a particularly nasty job of extractions on myself, i've found that cooling the skin down with either splashes or compresses of cool water helps, and i always top it off with an ampule of dr h's sensitive conditioner. and to bring down any super oily shine, a very light dusting with a brush of dr h's body powder. |

Maybe some Arnica cream/gel may help take the swelling and redness down. Im sure it will improve given a few days. Just make sure he keeps his face and fingers clean as to not infect it. |

poor kid
When I've done extractions on myself, I re-wash to make sure any gunk has not spread to the surrounding skin, then follow with a cooling toner, right now I'm using Yonka Lotion, the addition of essential oils for me is important as (hopefully) it won't get infected from all the messing and pressing. But saying this after some trial and error the right skin programme should help keep the number of extractions down. |
