Can anyone tell me if they extract people with acne? It was to my understanding that during the stage of the facial where extractions come in that you are to extract any papules or comedones. I'm just alarmed that my client's face got so red. I heard that this just made his skin angrier. I've recommended chamomile tea cold compresses but am just worried that I made a mistake extracting him at all. Can anyone answer?

Sorry about what happened, I appreciate you must be worried. Is there not a senior supervisor where you work who can take a look and suggest appropriate action? Otherwise, I guess keep on with the cold compresses

Idea Idea Idea Do not worry!Camomile is very good, ice is good too,a calming mask(honey with olive oil and a bit of lemon)and cleansing. It is a chance to get infections, so he has to keep his face clean.I do not know if washing too often is good, but for sure he needs some products to keep his face clean.

Hello,

Although I'm not too acne prone I had what was called a "Deep Cleansing Facial" about a year ago. The young lady did a few extractions as my pores were congested. My face did turn red in the areas and in fact bruised. I called the owner the next day and she had me come in. She placed a calming mask of some sort by Neova (copper)--which is good for wound healing on my face. After which she applied oxygen, yes straight oxygen to my face. I must say it helped. A company by the name of Procyte manufactures Neova and you can buy it online atwww.dermadoctor.com. I also took ibuprofen (advil, motrin) to help with inflammation. Remember not everyone can take NSAID's, so becareful if you recommend OTC medicine. Hope this helps.
