Hello everyone,
After raving to my mother about my skincare purchases and the improvement in my skin, my mum now wants to join in. The thing is, she has very different skin to mine, and different needs. She has smoked for many many years, so her skin is dry and lack-lustre. She has some wrinkles, but considering she has never used skincare (other than palmolive soap) in her life, she hasn't the first clue.
My question is: for anti-ageing bens (anti-wrinkle), as well as improving skin tone and moisturising -what is best. We will be ordering from Australia, so its hard to get samples to try, so now we need to know...what to buy??
Please please help with any ideas or suggestions of what works best..
Thank you, thank you in advance... |

I would say definitely a vitamin C serum. Based on my mum's experience, I would also suggest AlphadermaCE if your mum has some frown lines etc The two most important products I'd go for would be vit C and SPF though. |

I would second Vitamin C. Most definitely! I just gave one to my mom, and she is now "wowed" by it. Another one that I would recommend would be some moisturizer that is rich with antioxidants: vitamin E, green tea, etc... A good sunblock would be great as well. |

Last Christmas I got my mom Dr Hauschka's Rose Day Cream and Rejuvenating Mask and she loved them! |

Can't comment on the Strivectin, but mum's tried the Kinerase and the ADCE. The Kinerase will be more moisturising - the ADCE by itself may not be enough (mum uses the prep gel before it). Result wise, if your mum has frown lines then I think she'd see better results out of the ADCE. |

I'm with Chimera Fr Hauschka always goes down well, particulary the moisturisers and the Cleansing Cream.
Have a look at the introductary tins on EDS shopping, that way she could try a bit of everything. |

What about the Dr Hauschka Sample tin for dry skin and ask for some Vitamin C samples with your order |

Well, here are my recs. Hope they're of some help to you in finding something great for your mum.
I'm 39 and have been using the AlphaDerma Skin Prep, C&C Serum, ACDE and Okusil - followed by a moisturiser (Neal's Yard Frankincense) and eye cream because I have very dry skin - for the last few weeks. I've also been doing twice weekly Epidermx microdermabrasion followed by Silkia Camellia Oil.
Over the last couple of days, I've suddenly realised that my former dull, flaky, dry, starting-to-lose-firmness, blotchy skin with fine lines has been almost completely transformed. My fine lines are still there, but definitely look less noticeable (my "11" on my forehead above my nose has disappeared entirely!) and my skin is very firm. There's no dryness, no skin flakes and my complexion positively glows. The blotchiness is very much less and, whilst I used to have to wear fake tan on my face all the time to prevent me from looking like one of the undead with my terribly pale and dull skin, I don't feel the need any more. Even the occasional blemish doesn't stay around for long and fades quickly these days.
For the first time in years, I feel confident enough to leave the house without any make-up at all - not even concealer!
This probably makes me sound like a horribly conceited person, but I keep getting the urge to look in the mirror to see how gorgeous my skin's looking! Other people have noticed, too, and are complimenting me on how great my skin is at the moment.
I can't tell you how happy my new skincare regime has made me. Maybe some of those items would work for your mum, too?
And, as others have already said, I'd definitely advise you to go for a Vitamin C Serum. I'm convinced that the Janson Beckett C&C Serum has worked wonders for me. |

Oops! Forgot to say that, if you're interested in getting the AlphaDerma for your mum, it'd probably be best if you ordered the 5-Day Trial Kit. Then you can see whether she likes it before buying the full-sizes. |
