I've been using JI pressed base in warm silk and it's a perfect match, not to yellow and not to pink. Now I've developed a nice tan (skin will probably get even darker throughout the summer), and warm silk is to light for me. I was going to order warm sienna, but then I read in the Q&A section that "our most yellow base is warm sienna", so I'm worried it might be to yellow for my skin. I know I could order samles from skin-etc.com, but I'm really impatient and it's gonna be 2-3 weeks before I get them, because of the norwegian customs. Should I get warm sienna or a neutral shade like satin (which I think is darker than warm silk)?

How is the liquid compared to the pressed base? Is it the same color? I know the loose powder is darker. And also, the powder tends to stick to my facial hair, does this happen with the liquid as well?

I know that the shades in the loose and the pressed are not the same, I think the pressed is lighter than the loose from memory (you might want to double check that though...). I haven't tried the loose but from my own experience my Liquid Minerals in Warm Silk are a little bit too dark (or too warm rather) for me while the Warm Silk in pressed is fine.

Btw, if your face looks powdery because of the powder sticking to the facial hairs then you might want to just spritz your face a few times. It sets the mineral makeup and makes it look very natural. Works for me! Smile

Hi snoops. I use Warm Silk loose and pressed currently. I've used Satin too, loose and pressed and it is darker and a nice neutral shade. If you want a warm darker than WS shade why not try Amber? If you want neutral I would go with Satin.

FWIW, I found the loose is lighter than the pressed in the Satin and Warm Silk. I've never used the liquid. I hope this helps, I know how frustrating it is to try to find a shade without actually trying them on.

So the liquids are warmer, in other words? I think I'll get the base again, since I'm very happy with that. And I'll try spritzing, hope that helps (not much fun looking like a furry animal Laughing ). From what I've read on this forum, it seems like amber lighter and more yellow than warm sienna? Anyway, I think I'll try satin (really worried about the yellow). Is it a lot darker than warm silk or just a bit (afraid it might be to light for my tanned skin)?

Hi again! I find the Satin quite a bit darker than the Warm Silk but am avoiding a tan this year so I don't know if it would be dark enough for tanned skin. Maybe try the shade up from Satin, I don't know what it is but I seem to remember it has suntan or something like it in the name, and mix it with WS on your brush or sponge while applying it if it's too dark? That way you can customize it as your skin colour changes?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'll get the satin one, hopefully that is the right shade for me...

If it doesn't work out, you can trade it onwww.makeupalley.com . I had a Satin pressed compact and a loose tub, I had quite a few requests for the pressed within hours of listing it, it's a very popular and expensive brand so it's easy to trade Smile . I kept the loose because it's lighter than the pressed. Good luck! I sure hope the Satin works out, I would hate with all my 'advice' for you to in the end get something that doesn't work out.

I've tried many of the colours.

-Warm silk was slightly light (but perfect in the liquid)

-Amber was too yellow (and I SWEAR it is lighter than warm silk)

-Satin was not yellow enough (made my skin look greyish)

-Warm sienna is perfect. Yellow enough but not orangey looking. It looks like a bronzer on my skin. In the winter I'll mix it with warm silk to get the perfect colour.

For reference right now I wear mac NC30...in the winter I wear NC25 and I like my foundations a half shade darker than my skintone

I don’t know if this helps much, but I actually have a (sample) container of (pressed powder) Warm Silk and Amber in front of me right now. Literally, the only difference is the Amber is maybe one click darker than Warm Silk. I mean, the difference is so subtle as to be nearly unnoticeable! For the record, Warm Silk is my color in the winter and I switch to Amber in the summer months, although I am very fair-skinned and do not have any sort of tan (except the “Natural Glow” on my body, courtesy of Jergens).
