I recently ordered the Crowning Glory shampoo concentrate for dry hair and the Conditioning balm from this 100% natural company. The shampoo is sulfate and paraben free and the list of ingredients looks fab as do the ingredients in the balm.
The shampoo is definitely different! I knew it would feel different to a chemically based product but I SO wanted to love this!
It is very concentrated but thin as it contains no artificial thickeners, it only lathers a little - happy with all of this so far - results? Well my hair felt...well, weird - like I'd washed it with a bar of soap - clean but weird! I knew it was going to be a new experience for me so perservered and added the conditioner - this comes in a tiny jar and is a solid yellow balm - you take a tiny amount and melt/liquify it in your hands spread throught he hair then comb through. It smells beautiful.
Well my hair felt completely differnt to 'normal' while still wet but was surprisingly easy to comb through.
Sadly as I dried my hair I wasn't happy with the 'feel' of it - it felt like I had lots of 'product' in it. Once dry I used my irons and where as usually they slide through and my hair falls sleekly down, my hair sort of 'set in place, again like I had on product. This was sadly not for me - they do encourage you to buy the sample shampoos first so maybe I just picked the wrong one - though my hair is quite dry. But my hair just didn't feel nice.:O( Maybe I'm just too used to it feeling 'synthetic'?
On a plus I ordered the skincare samples and they are beautiful - I couldn't try the Rose Perfect serum though as it had leaked and there was none in the bottle.
The company have great ethics and good customer service and they really put their heart into their products but for me the haircare just wasn't a real alternative to my usual salon brands. Maybe I'm just not ready to give up all my chemicals until I can still get the results I am used to?
If you like great control and 'clean' natural products you'll love the haircare range I think but for me I like my hair to feel slippery and sleek it just was too 'weird'!! |
