I've just sold alot of Philosophy for a friend on Ebay and she has given me a pot of "Hope in a jar" lip and eye cream. I've never used it before and the cream looks very rich and thick. Anyone used it?? Is it good? |

I have a tendency for dry skin under my eyes and this worked very well for me. I found it hydrated beautifully, but wasn't too heavy and didn't give me any milia.
Sadly, it didn't really help with my dark circles and eyebags, though. |

I've been using "when hope is not enough" serum (not cream) at night.
I'm pretty happy with it! |

Ohhh, I'll give it a go then, thank you. Didn't really know anything about the brand. It all seemed to go pretty quickly on Ebay though! |

I was wondering the same thing because I wanted to know about the Philosophy 2 pc. vitamin C microdelivery peel.
I haven't heard of the brand either but saw it on ebay also. What does your friend say about Philosophy brand products? |

The Philosophy products I've so far tried that did good things for my dry skin with fine lines are:
When Hope Is Not Enough Moisturiser
When Hope Is Not Enough Serum
Hope & A Prayer Vit C Powder
Hope In A Jar Eye & Lip
Philosophy Peel Kit
I can definitely recommend all of these if you also have dry skin, are bothered with fine lines and want your skin to plump up. |

I've only been using the Hope in a jar lip and eye cream since 13th July I put it on in the mornings. Its very early days so I can't really comment on it yet, but its a very nice texture and doesn't irritate my skin..
My friend is a sales assistant for a big cosmetic house! She said the reason the UK is so stingey with samples is because the Sales Assistants take them all home...She comes home with bagfulls at a time!!! She wanted to make some extra money so asked me to sell them!
She loves the Philosophy range, also the Prescriptives...she swears but the Micro peel delivery. I sold one of those for her for £9! |

I've always suspected that this is what they do with the samples. They take them all home and sell them. A 5ml sample can go for a few quid on Ebay. Why would they bother handing them out to potential customers when they could sneak them home and make money on them? Suppose they see it as one of the perks of the job. |

I've made so many expensive mistakes in the past that nowadays I always either ask for a free sample to try or get a SA to apply whatever cosmetic I'm interested in on my skin, so I can see if it works for me. If not, then I simply don't buy.
It's really annoying to think of them pocketing the samples themselves. |

It is..In Spain when ever you buy any cosmetics you always get free samples put in with your purchase...In England hardly ever! |

France is really good for samples, too.
Not only do we pay through the nose for everything here in the UK, they often won't even give us samples to try.
It also annoys me when you visit websites like L'Occitane's. The prices are really good on the French one and you can order from all kinds of other countries, but not from the UK. Nope, we have to order from the UK L'Occitane site - at considerably higher prices. So much for European trade co-operation.
In fact, I stopped buying L'Occitane products completely because it makes me so angry.
I think L'Artisan Parfumeur will be doing the same thing shortly. UK people can't order from their site (yet other people from all kinds of tiny, far-off countries all over the world are allowed). They're working on a new UK site instead - probably so they can milk us for more money. |

I have noticed this too.
I was interested in a product by Nuxe. Found it at a really cheap price on a couple of French websites. They would ship to just about every country in the world except the UK.
I've managed to order from other websites within Europe so why can't I order from France? Obviously politics involved somewhere. |

I have tried some of their products and really only like the Microdelivery line. I have tried the peel, face wash and cloths. I love all of these. They are great for a pick me up to dull skin. I'd give them a try once if you have not. |

Love Philosophy products. Mid-priced and they work well. |

Yes, they work very well for the price and you can find them for even less on Ebay sealed. |

I used Hope in a Jar for a few years and really liked it. Ultimately, it would be better in a pump, but it was a good cream and a good price (and even better for free!). |
