I'm new here but thought I would post about what great recommendations I received from the EDS aesthetician. My complaint was that, even at 53, my medium/fair skin always is oily and shiny with break-out on occasion, especially if something is too rich. But I'm also dehydraded. They recommended:
Derma. Clay Cleanser
Derma. Multi- Vit. Toner
Skinc. Vit. C 10
Skinc. Hydra B-5
Kinerase
Derma. Power Firm (eyes & lips)

This combination is fabulous for my skin! I couldn't believe that even after two days, my skin had no oily breakthru! Now I'm looking for the "extras" to really look gorgeous (mask, AHA, etc.).

I thank my lucky stars that EDS is available to all with FREE advice. I LOVE MY STUFF! Cheryl

Hey Cheryl,

This is an amazing shopping place isn't it??? I am mid 40's and I use Skincuetical C +E w/B5 & intensive renewal. For my mositurizer & eye creme it is cellcosmet but for masks/intensive treatments Valmont won my heart. I also really enjoy the Decleor line and wouldn't have trouble alternating cleaners between cellcosmet and Decleor. Make- up hands down is Jane Iredale. I have tried one Kinerase product, which do you use? I use to use a lot of Dermalogica products and I love the line but felt I could get better results. I still use the Microfoliant and their shampoo and conditioner. FYI....I am 100% Irish, fair skin/complexion, not sensitve but hard to please:P

Hi! As far as I know, Kinerase is either a cream or lotion for moisturizing, that's all there is. I use the cream. I may need something with a bit more "umpf" for the winters in Chicago. Tell me what masks and AHA/BHA or RetinA stuff you love. I'm dark blonde, 100% Russian, with green eyes and ruddy skin. My skin tends toward sensitive but I'm not a fragile sensitive!

I just changed cuz I was using all the Jan Marini products and thought I could get better results, too. And so far, so good. So let me know the specific names of your favs. Thanks for chatting, Cheryl

Mabsy, Thanks so much for your input but the price is a bit(!) out of my range. I've got two kids in private colleges so money is tight. Any other suggestions?

Cheryl, perhaps you could ask for a sample of the Valmont Renewing pack. I did and was surprised to see how generous a size it came in (a little jar). Unfortunately I can't use it because it contains fish DNA in it Sad and I'm vegan, so I sent it to my mom to try to see if she likes it, since it seems like virtually everyone who has used it has good results with it.

Cheryl,

How about the Dermalogica Power Recovery mask? It's a scary yellow/orange colour and you look silly while you have it on but it's REALLY good. Nice smooth plumped up skin afterwards. I'm currently trying the EmerginC Q10 mask and that's quite nice too (I prefer the Dermalogica though).

If you're after deep cleansing masks instead of hydrating/soothing then the Ahava mud ones are good. Ask for some samples of masks with your next order and see which one you like best.
