I really have no idea what to buy now from this range so I have posted my picture which you have all seen anyway in the hope that you can all help me.
I would like to buy the pressed base (not sure what shade),
do I need the liquid foundation or the primer? Also concealer, I do have some acne scaring and uneven tones do I go for the Circle Deleate or the disapear?
In the photo I am wearing Mac Studio Finnish concealer in NC20 around the chin area to cover blemishes, MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC30 and MAC refined golden bronzer on Cheeks, nose and forhead.
Also I do have oily skin. |

Hi rosebud If you have oily skin I don't think you would need the liquid foundation. You could use either the JI primer or a less expensive alternative is the Jurlique rose (or lavender) dust. I put it on after my sunscreen to soak up any oilies and then buff on the pressed base after that.
I have quite fair skin and I use the pressed in "amber". My photo is on that thread you originally posted yours on in the other forum. From your pic it seems as though you would be darker, possibly "warm sienna"? I'm not sure about the concealers though, I'm yet to try them. |

hi *C*
when I wore JI (too drying for me now) I wore Warm Silk and you are darker than me and I think my MAC was NC15? I love the Circle Delete in #2, never tried the other one. |

I'm NC25 and use the warm sienna.
www.skin-etc.com sells samples for $3 US and they do ship internationally (even though it says for JI they won't...they do!) |

Wait just a second for CareKate to catch up, please...
First of all, where’s the link to Rosebud’s photo? I must have missed that thread!
Secondly, I thought colors like Warm Silk, Amber and Warm Sienna were...well...*warm*. If Rosebud says she is cool/neutral complected, shouldn’t she chose a shade from the cool or neutral family? Like, say, the cool and/or neutral equivalent of Amber and Warm Sienna?
For the record, I’m very fair, but warm-complected, and wear Warm Silk in the winter and Amber in the summer. And I TOTALLY second Princesita’s recommendation to use Jurlique Rose or Lavender Silk Dust as both a base before applying JI pressed foundation, and then sweep on another layer to “set” your makeup if you are even the slightest remote bit oily! It really makes all the difference in the world. |

I agree with Carrie, I was going to post last night but I was so darn tired, figured I would wait until I was rested and lucid.
I saw the photo (cutie that you are!) and you look neutral/cool to me. I don't know what I am in MAC but I use the lightest fair shade in JI pressed and loose, Warm Silk. The lightest neutral shade is Bisque I think and then Satin. I say look at the colours at Skin etc. I have a hard time picking other's colours. |

Carrie,
Rosebud's pic is posted in lounge 'Its all about you thread'. I would have posted link but I don't know how. Sorry. |

I also have oily/combo skin and woudl recommend for you to get the JI pressed powder (you won't need liquid foundation under it). I got the dissapear consealer but actually only use the Circle delete (I use no1 because it's all beige tones)...it's amazing. Get samples of the powder (I use warm sienna for my olive-toned skin, can't stand pinkish undertones in powders and this one is all beige).
My JI rouge is in warm apricot which is pretty dark, but I just use alittle instead and blend well. I rather use alittle of rouge that's darker, then tons of a shade that's lighter... that way it's longer lasting, I can adjust it all year round as I get more tanned in the summer etc.
The Jurlique rose silk dust is just a lux product... I love it- the smell..ahhh... but if you use the pressed powder, I doubt you'll need to use the silk-dust... it goes on white but will be more translucent once on the skin.
Good luck |

happyhippie do you need to use a primer underneath the pressed base also what do you prefer about the circle deleate over the disapear? What do you use it to cover?
Thanks everyone |

nope... no need for primer under the pressed base, although that's a personal preference. I tend to stay away from anything creamy or oily and only use serums under the powder (vit.C/Bioelements refiner and Jurlique).
I use the circle delete under my eyes when I'm not lazy... other days I just swosh the powder under my eyes, but it's nicer to have only the circle-delete and no powder under the eyes (looks fresher). I have used it also to cover occational pimples, but after using the Bioelements quick refiner, I have not had one breakout!!!
I find the circle delete amazing on photo-shoots, especially when I photograph an older woman and don't want the eye-area to look wrinkled (everybody loves to look 10 years younger on pictures) and for mature skin I use the JI liquid base... I find the liquid base great to use under the eyes too for light coverage.

I’m sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with that. If you have oily skin, Jurlique Silk Dust (regardless of whether you chose the Rose or Lavender) is an absolute must-have. It is better at absorbing excess oil than any other powder I’ve ever tried – and being a grease-ball, I’ve tried a lot! I use it both under and over my (JI pressed powder) foundation and it’s made a significant difference in controlling my shinies. It’s one product that I can never be without! (No, I’m not a Jurlique sales rep working on commission!!) |

Hi all-
I agree that some primer is needed underneath e.g. silk dust to prevent oily breakthroughs. Had some put on recently at Ella Bache and after hald day wear had some oil on forehead.
For interests sake (I hope I don't confuse you Rosebud) I preferred the texture of the loose powder on my face and pores to the pressed base, which I assumed would be better for me according to what I had read here. If you use pressed base, the powder colour you use is one shade lighter as it gives more coverage or something. Rosebud, since it can be quite an investment I would recommend finding a stockist near you to get the colours done, and then order from EDS if it costs less. I am bisque in loose base, radiant in pressed base- which is so much pastier than I expected!! Always thought I was olive. Obviously haven't been in the sun much this year |

i have super oily skin and am fair with blonde hair, blues eyes. (i think i say that on my signature below). my skin is the kind where i look like a road map because of my veins. (not on my face though! fhew!). i always thought i would be cool toned but surprisinly, i'm warm.
anyway, i use warm silk and occasionally warm sienna which is great for toning down redness b/c of the yellow in it. and then i either use latte or suntan as a bronzer. for blush i use whisper. great color for my complexion. and it has a little bit of the gold dust in it for a bit of shimmer.
i also use the circle delete 2 under my eyes and in the corners. the peachy color is great for my corners (near my nose) b/c i have blue colored veins that run through there and i also have naturally dark circles. the peachy color covers 95% of the bluish color.
rosebud: i would not recommend using the circle delete concealer for post blemish scars. it has too much moisture or oil (whatever) in it which is not good for the rest of an oily face. i am going to try the other you mention. just haven't yet. however, try it- you might find that it works well for you. it just doesn't for me.
i also would stick with the pressed base b/c i think that the loose is ideal for drier skins. and the liquid was too cakey on me.
whatever the case i really recommend JI! it's so natural looking and does so much for your complexion. my skin has not reacted to it at all and usually i react to any foundation or powder. it's truly amazing.

LOL! I'm a 'human peach' too! I've concidered waxing but I'm pretty sure my skin would freak out; can't wax my upper lip, I have to use bleach instead and even then, it burns.
If I pat a bit with the JI flocked sponge where the hairs are most noticeable that helps and spritzing afterward helps too. |
