I've read many raves about LRP FE SPF 40 and 60. Went to the store to check it out but wasn't sure which one u guys have been recommending. Is the the blue and white packaging (which seems to come only in SPF50) and which the consultant referred to as 'city block' that or the Anthelios orange n white packaging which she referred to as 'outdoor block'? And wats the XL range? Im confused...didnt manage to get any samples except for UVIDEA XL FE SPF 50. Yet to try it tho.... |

Hi Mojocat,
You must be in Asia somewhere, because Uvidea was thought up by LRP for the Asian market. I don't know why LRP felt compelled to follow the trend of lighter textures (a specialty of Japanese sunscreens) because their competency lies in their sunscreens with high UVA protection. Uvidea is lighter than FE but there is a compromise in UVA protection and is even more expensive than FE.
Generally, when you read about LRP, it is about the Anthelios range. Within the Anthelios range, there are two subdivisions - the "L' range, and the "XL" range. The "L" range contains only Mexoryl SX whilst the "XL" range contains both Mex SX and XL, resulting in a high UVA protection (PPD factor). The FE is from the "XL" range.
Hope that helps. |

Thanks Bad Bird!! Can always count on your extensive knowledge. incidentally i m in singapore i guess i should be getting the Anthelios FE XL SPF60? I hv extremely sun sensitive skin but could also be prone to break outs cos of active glands beneath (but surface is dry). Also hv u tried Bioderma SPF100 Emulsion? What is that like n where is it available?? |

Hey Mojocat! Nice to meet a fellow Singaporean here!
Actually, with Singapore's heat and humdity, FE can feel a little too oily, especially if you layer products underneath. How did you find the Uvidea? Best would be if you can try the FE and compare both.
The Bioderma cannot beat the FE for the watery texture. You can get Bioderma at TTSH retail pharmacy. |
