I'm thinking of doing a TCA peel on my intensely freckled arms and shoulders, using the products from the platinumskincare (sp?) website mentioned in earlier posts.
Has anyone used TCA on their arms? Any other suggestions how to treat my arms? Maybe 65% lactic acid (from makeupartistschoice)?
I've had IPL on my face, to marvelous effect, but don't have the bucks to shell out on doing the same for my appendages. |

It's not a horrible idea, but be very careful. Peeling the arms/neck, etc, is much different than the face. You could always use prescription retinoids w/ sunscreen there, but this will probably be expensive and take a little longer than a peel. Go slow and with the lowest % of TCA if that's what you're leaning toward. Lactic acid would be a better choice, I think.
Seems obvious, but wearing a high SPF/PDD sunscreen should take care of things after a mild peel. (And probably wouldn't have been that bad if one was used previously.) |

some years ago I burnt my arms in the sum, blisters and everything now I do have some sensitivity there and sometimes get prickly heat which brings them up bumpy. I can see my skin tone is a little freckled but that's if I'm looking hard however I can't imagine going to have my skin burnt off to get rid of freckling.
I would keep them out of the sun and wear sunscreen if freckles were my concern...you know lots of people find them attractive
Are they natural freckles or sun damage freckles? |
